Per Adam Schefter, “In speaking to some teams, I don’t think this is going to deter anyone’s interest in trading for Deshaun Watson”

Oh man we bringing up Bill Cosby now

See, this is why some of you are impossible to debate with.  You just take one little phrase and miss the overall point.

Nobody is comparing Watson to Cosby.  My point is just because someone tries to reach a settlement before suing someone doesn't mean they are lying, and to suggest otherwise makes you look like a damned fool.  Learn how stuff like this actually works before talking about it, because I hate nothing more than how people just try and make it seem like victims lie and lie and lie.  It rarely happens.  9 women did not just wake up and say hey, let's potentially ruin our lives by accusing Deshaun Watson of sexual assault.  And the fact that this is how some of you are reacting is the EXACT reason why this toxic culture will never change and people will be taken advantage of and be afraid to speak up.

You cannot preach "innocent until proven guilty" meanwhile you routinely label the victims as liars.  Nobody knows the facts, so stop trying to take a side.  That is all I am saying.

Pretty sure nobody's gonna call me an SJW 😄

What I am is somebody who's known real women that have been in this situation. And sad to say this included women that I loved.

The reality is it's nowhere near as simple as we would like it to be.

Yeah man, I actually didn't mean to imply that you were and SJW and I definitely didn't want to get into a name calling situation. I was getting irritated in general and I meant the comment in general and not at you. There were a lot of different conversations going on at the same time and it was just all going away from football and into other realms. I specifically joined this site to avoid these kind of conversations and felt myself being pulled into them and needed to step away for a little and refocus. I came back into this conversation only to apologize to you and set the record straight. Didn't mean to come across as attacking you. This is a very emotional topic for me as well. My sister and her daughter have both been in abusive relationships and both have been put into the hospital by abusive boyfriends. I have seen what they went through and both went to the police and had physical injuries and immediately talked to people about what happened. I understand that everyone is different but these accusations are really serious and there must be some sort of collaboration and I just can't believe that no one either went to is is going to involve police. If they aren't then their lawyer should be instead of talking to and leaking information to the media. The way that this is happening so far is what contributes to victims of assault not being believed. Especially in todays society. This is not the correct way to deal with predator's and it isn't helping anyone and even the women if these events actually occurred as leaked and it's not protecting other potential victims as it's not removing the problem. Now,  I will stick to the football conversations.

Yeah that’s what I thought, we disagree

What the hell are you disagreeing with?

People looking to reach a settlement before going to court as being a common thing is a fact.  There is nothing to disagree with.  Like what the heck are you talking about?

Anyone who has drawn a conclusion already one way or the other, from the very little information or substance provided, needs to chill the hell out and wait.

We don't know what is true yet. If it turns out he's a scumbag rapist, a lot of you people are going to look like real mysognistic, incel dicks.

If he is innocent, a lot of you are going to look like a rabid pitch, fork wielding, blood thirsty mob working themselves up into a frenzy to take down the celebrity.

The facts right now are that he's been accused by multiple women of some really shady things, and he denies it.

That's it. Those are literally all the facts that we know right now. Literally everything else is speculation.

We are adults who can walk and chew gum at the same time, I literally know women aren't liars and sexual assault is serious and can ALSO be skeptical of Cal McNairs neighbor buddy who fakes texts to win cases bc he's got an axe to grind with the QB who made him look bad in the media.

Imagine being so quick to prove your virtue you side with a billionaire owner smearing an employee to paint yourself as an ally to women

Yeah so we believing the word of this lawyer that has lied before. Ok that’s what I thought I knew someone would finally step into that. NOBODY knows and it’s speculation not TRUTH. Everyone bad mouthing Watson right now, wow I can’t wait to see what y’all going to say when he is cleared. Yikes

No one is bad-mouthing Watson. What we're saying is stop bad mouthing the women just because you love the person who is accused.  As far is I can tell those not jumping in head first in the defend Watson no matter what pool are being labeled just like the women in this case.  Ironic isn't it.

He was never neighbors with Cal McNair, he was neighbors with Bob McNair.

Big distinction for this whole drama.

Been there. And for the record, I much prefer football conversations. But like I said earlier, this isn't really a football story anymore.

The sad reality is as long as people are people, stuff like this is going to happen. Bad people who have power will misuse it. Innocent people who have wealth will be targeted by opportunists. And all the rest of us will just sit back with no easy way to tell what the real truth is.

Sucks, but what can you do?

Never said I could, but you're acting like Watson's statements can't be questioned. I assure you, they can.

And just to be clear, you're repeatedly pounding on this $100,000 figure when that amount was never quoted. Watson only said "six figures" and that was at the time when there was only one lawsuit.

As to my position on this, it's the same it's always been. I have no idea whether he's guilty or not. I do know that having nine accusers (and potentially more) puts him in a pretty bad spot.

This is going to play out in the court, as it should. The final result? Who knows. Frankly, this story's been so crazy so far that I wouldn't even try to predict it right now.

Yeah that’s what I’m trying to tell y’all who knows. 90 percent of the huddle is like Watson is terrible, kick him out of league, he did it, he is trash. They have no damn clue best thing to do is nobody say anything better yet close this thread.
