Pretty sure we'd either have to restructure or cut somebody to pay what he would likely cost.

Gantt did say we're not done looking at corners, for what that's worth.

I would like to hear that we had a decent true FS in mind. I know we might not have 2 great CBs but we have a lot of them. Seems like we're really lacking FSs though unless I'm forgetting someone. Or we have a player listed somewhere else who can play that role.

Just looked at his current salary, if we have the space and he'll take a similar offer then yeah we should definitely take a shot. He's been a solid player for years and still under 30. He would make another good addition to our new defense.

If they wanted him to take a pay cut then perhaps we could get him for 4-5 mil a year? I have no idea how much space we have right now though.

But I must say I'm liking this off season so far. Regardless of what happens at QB I'm feeling good about heading into next season.

I would pay him 10M. With a strong CB, this defense starts to look solid.

Yes--now you don't have Jackson or Pride on the #1.  They get better as they take on lesser WRs.  So signing 1 player makes 3-4 players better.

Is he making 10 mil a year? I saw something about 4.5 mil

    • Lil Stanky 100% in the dot tonight... And our 2nd line has been our best offensive line this season. Maybe our 2C really was on the roster this whole time...?
    • That’s a grade I kind of expected tbh. I’m not a huge fan of NS, but he’s not as bad as what the huddle says he is minus the horrible game he had vs the Rams. I’ve always thought he’s often used as a scapegoat. The improved pass rush should hide his deficiencies a little bit better if he’s the game one starter. FS might have to be a position we punt on this year unless Thieneman falls to us at 19. The reality is, you're going to have a few average players in certain spots for a team with as many holes we had before free agency started. You can’t sign everyone.
    • I am by no means trying to say he's a world beater. I'm saying it's trending in the right direction. Especially when measured against himself.i think the team feel the same way or else they wouldn't have picked up his option. Plus I think there is a new idea in the NFL about these young QBs. Teams give up to soon. Browns gave up to soon on baker same with the jets on Geno and darnold. Maybe they are who you thought they were in the draft process and they need more time to develop than you originally planned. Either way. I do think he is as capable as darnold is as far as you can win a championship with him. And something he does have that darnold doesn't is he is clutch.  If I need one more drive and 2 mins to go I'm betting on Bryce and I am far from a homer, just going off his game winning drives. He has that dog in him on the last drive.
