So they are keeping Jimmy G so they can ripen Mac a year? None of that makes sense. Even if that's to raise G's trade value it still doesn't make sense. None of this makes any sense. What is the 'competition'? How much they can waste and still not have a good QB on the roster? No way they pick Mac at 3, it has to be a smokescreen. It's all just too ridiculous.

Agree.  They could have stayed at 12 and got Jones if he was their guy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm *THRILLED* as a Panthers fan if the 49'ers take Jones.  Over the moon.  Makes it that much more likely one of the actual first round QB's falls to us.

From what I've read, it sounds like they're keeping Garoppolo so they have a good backup in case their starter goes down.

49ers have been solid under Lynch except for QBs. It's crazy but it would be great for us.

Its been days...... I still have no idea with this plan.....plus you spend three 1st and a 3rd to waste one year of rookie contract on the most "pro" ready QB??? Not even drugs, long term drug abuse would make sense of this. This is a whole another level of ??????????????.

Mind boggling. And way ahead of the draft for pick 3. Maybe the Jets are passing on a QB and the 49ers know they are getting getting Wilson. Only thing that comes close to sanity.

That would be one hell of leap of faith given that everyone has wilson as clear 100% 2nd pick. Im going to quit trying to think of their reasons why, its toooo far down the raddit hole of madness for me. In closing IF Jones does become a elite.....IF jones does become a elite QB...I will own my mistake and give props to 49ers staff/coaches. You couldnt get a much better situation for a QB. SF has the best TE, one bosa bro, great OTs, best LB core in the league, and what I thought was a brilliant offensive mind. Still impossible they traded future 1st for Mac "mfingu^G^&G(" Jones.

You think Jones gets past us and the Broncos?

Clearly the 49ers didn't.
