if the 49ers really want Jones over this kid, beyond stupid

Odd question - Would there be a scenario where Lynch would move up to 3, just to trade back and accumulate more assets?

If they wanted Mac Jones, they could've come up to 8 to get him if they thought we were interested. However, no SF holds the cards at 3 and could trade back with us, perhaps gain an extra asset vs. what they gave up to MIA and still take Jones at 8.

The SF front office is not a room full of folks that untrained GMs need to enter. Pace got worked in that Trubisky deal and I feel like they have something up their sleeve here.

Hmmmm

Yes, teams and scouts are INTENTIONALLY hamstringing themselves. 🙄

They've watched the tape - there aren't any questions about his arm strength or mobility (albeit there's questions about his mechanics).

We’re getting Fields or Lance. Trust Rhule. Those are the two pro days he went to.

Yeah but Joe brady went to Mac Jones pro day so We have to wait and see what their results on these guys I hope we can get Lance or Field on 8th pick.

Was his pro day today?

Ran a 4.57 and I can only find one highlight throw from an awful angle.

I don't think so He won't escape from Pocket passes against Average or Top 10 NFL defense if We get him on mid-3rd or 4th rounder pick.

    • I could see Ruke or Xavier being possibilities this year.  Top 30 visits.  Seems this group looked at Clemson more so than past regimes.   Not that I really want that to happen.  I think the last time I legitimately wanted them to draft a Tiger was Nuk.  I'm also curious if they end up doubling down on the local products.   XL checks the box.   They brought Wilson, Walker, a bunch of Clemson guys in.  Who knows.  I would like Shipley in the 4th.
    • DJ Clark and Jonathan Mingo were our #2 and #3 receivers behind Theilan. The two of them combined for 78 catches ,5 TDS , and 943 yards . Those are the type of number you should expect for a lone #2 receiver or a stud TE over the course of a 17 game season. To match that production level in 2024 XL would need to average 4.5 receptions per game, a TD every 3 games, and 55.5 yards per game. If XL is used properly and if Bryce is competent enough to get him the ball he should have no trouble reaching (or surpassing) those totals which would be a huge improvement for our passing game.  Theilan is still a dependable #3 and the addition of Johnson gives us a true # 1. On paper we are without a doubt better at WR. Whether or not it translates to the field remains to be seen.
