I don't understand the logic in saying Lance will be there at #7.

1. Jax- Trevor Lawrence

2. NYJ- Zach Wilson

3. SF- Justin Fields or Trey Lance

4. (Trade)- Justin Fields or Trey Lance

I hate to say it but this is definitely what's going to happen. Mac isn't going #3, dude is getting a lot of fake hype. That leaves teams like Carolina, Denver Washington and New England vying for #4 or settling on Mac.

Who is trading to four and for what?  Thats going to be a lot to give up for the 4rth qb off the board.  I just dont see it

I think it'll be Denver. They've been aggressive in free agency at their other positions of need and it's two fold for Atlanta, get extra picks plus you screw a division rival out of a QB. That leaves them with picks plus great value to address DE, CB or S.

Maybe it is just me but why would we trade up from 8th to 7th with Detroit to pick a guy who will be there anyway. If they really wanted Lance they wouldn't make the trade and they likely won't go QB after trading for Goff. They need weapons around him like WRs.  If Detroit wanted a QB I could see us trading ahead of Detroit if we thought they wanted Lance but not with Detroit. Tell me where my thinking is flawed

The other big point that hasn't been mentioned is that Detroit seems to be all-in on a rebuild which makes them a prime candidate to trade back, even to 19 if the package was good. Why do I think that? Well if they actually cared about being competitive at all sooner rather than later, they would've been better off taking our trade package for Stafford rather than trading with the Rams for 2 future 1sts. Passing on the #8 pick plus an extra pick this year so you can get 2 1sts in future years that will likely be in the late 20s? You don't do that unless you've written off this year and are all in for the future. Hell, Detroit is probably cool with being awful in 2021 and eyeing a top pick in 2022 to take a qb and move on from Goff. Trading premium picks for future picks helps accomplish that and make them more poised to take the leap in 2022 and beyond.

So with that in mind, if we really have a much higher grade on either Lance or Fields, giving up a 3rd to ensure your choice makes plenty of sense. Obviously this trade implies as much. Otherwise you stay at 8, don't care if Detroit trades out and take whoever is left. But you have to assume Detroit is going to be aggressively trying to sell 7 especially if any of the top qbs are still available. It's almost inevitable.

It’s at least one first and a second to start that conversation.  Maybe 2 firsts.   IMO that’s too much for the 4rth qb off the board.    I think the buzz is building for pitts to atl.  However I think surtain on that defense makes them immediately legit.

Lawrence, Wilson, Mac, Pitts (Falcons seem to be high on him), Sewell/Chase

Dolphins(not draft a QB)/Lions could be trade partners, but Slater, Fields, or Lance should be available at 8 regardless. IF the Niners get Fields and the Falcons trade their pick for someone to draft Lance we can look at Slater at LT.

I am loving the chance to potentially get slater.  Dude plays like an animal.  We keep speculating about which qb falls to us but we are not considering if the staff likes them or not.  It could be a real possibility that we pass on lance and/or fields.   We shouldn’t be picking a qb for the sake of picking a qb.

If there's one of the big QBs there and we don't want him then we absolutely need to be fielding trade offers. An elite LT with our current roster = zero added wins. Stack draft assets if we aren't drafting a QB.

Why would we take lance when fields has as good an arm, better intermediate route passer, just as good if not better athlete.

If Fields had that Alabama team this wouldn’t even be a conversation.

If the panthers land Justin at #8 I’m dancin

That's your take and your opinion. You could be right, but you could also be wrong!

Wow giving up picks to get the 4th/5th best qb in the draft? lol

And it’s not just one spot value, going to have to offer more than the other teams

If you're getting your guy, the 4th or 5th best is the first best. You already know that draft board rankings are wrong every year.

Unless some team makes a sweet heart deal for 7, Detroit should stay there and pick a player.

If ANY team wants to jump us to get a QB, we'll be out bid easily.

Why would we be outbid any easier than any other team? Our picks, players and desire are just as valid as any team's. All of this will depend upon who is willing to give what.
