How would Mayfield, Murray, or Allen have faired with the Jets?

Honestly, do you think that any of these young QB's that have shown promise would have been able to perform at the same level with Gase and the Jets?

Would Mayfield, Murray, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, any of those top 10 guys put up All Pro numbers with Gase and the Jets?

Not focusing on Darnold for a moment, but strictly looking at Gase and the Jets team. Is that a fair place to showcase ones talents?

No.  Situation and culture are everything in the NFL. I don't think even Mahomes would have been guaranteed success with Gase/ the Jets.

No way to know for sure, but I find it hard to believe that Herbert and Mayfield would look as bad.  Josh Allen looked pretty bad his first 2 seasons with the Bills and has improved tremendously.

Right, the Jets sucking doesn't mean that Darnold doesn't also suck it's a little too much in one direction right now and it's like well h old the fug up though. We can evaluate the situation when it was going well along the OL and when the WR was catching the ball etc.

Uhh it doesn't look impressive lol but still doesn't mean he will fail either. It's happened before and it could happen again that a player picks it up after switching teams. Its not necessarily common that this happens but that is the position you get in when you win meaningless games and drop way down to 8 when you could get just a legit stud but here we go.

Darnold also sucked with Bowles has his coach.

Outside of Herbert all those guys have played in terrible situations all have outplayed Darnold in those terrible situations.

They'd have sucked! The situation these young guys get in is about as important as the traits they have, it's just that no one wants to talk about it. It's like a dirty little secret. 

We've already learned this lesson way back when with Jim Plunkett. We learned it more recently with Ryan Tannehill. We may learn it with Carson Wentz, and hopefully we'll learn it in first row seats with Sam Darnold.
