Could be that they're all in on Pitts this year and hoping to get something for Julio while they can.

Also could mean they're ready to take a new quarterback and blow the whole thing up.

Or that they want people to think that 🤔

General rumors and speculation from draft week not necessarily related to the Panthers...

Starting with...

I have every reason to believe that the Patriots will be trying to move up and take one of the top 5 QBs out there. There's no way they are looking at Cam for a long-term answer (love ya Cam but let's realize there's more good football behind ya than in front of ya). And there are too many QB hungry teams out there to not be aggressive in their pursuit -- it's likely that all of the top five will be gone before 15.

It will be very much cost prohibitive for them to move on from Ryan for at least the next couple of seasons. 2023 is the first realistic season that he'll be gone. They could still take a QB, but if that happens I'd bet that he sits for at least a season and a half.

It just doesn't seem like the year to be getting in to the inflated market for the QBs that are there.  High demand doesn't make them better prospects.

Some tidbits from the link below:

  • The 49ers decision will predicate the Falcons.  Wonder if they prefer Lance or Mac?
  • Xavien Howard is in trade talks? Speculation
  • The Pats, Bears, and WFT still rumored to move up (9-10 range? Is that a CAR trade partner?)
  • Could definitely see a DEN jump ahead of us if the last bullet point is the case.  Maybe a 7 & 9 swap for Fields.  DET would still land a top WR (Smith or Waddle)

If they really are looking at moving on from Julio Jones, I wonder what that says about the status of Matt Ryan.

This is from Albert Breer:

"The drumbeat for Florida’s Kyle Pitts has grown louder here, and a good number of other clubs believe he’ll be the fourth pick. Three breadcrumbs we can leave for you here. One, GM Terry Fontenot has done some relationship-building with Matt Ryan that, really, seems to indicate the Falcons aren’t desperate to move on from him in nine months (the contract restructure sends a similar message), and Ryan has been a steady presence in the building the last few weeks. Two, word is the asking price to move up to No. 4 is high, which would indicate Atlanta might not be rushing to move the pick. And then there’s where Arthur Smith made his bones—coaching tight ends. For what it’s worth, the buzz around the NFL has been that Fontenot and Smith are comfortable going forward with Ryan, if that’s where Atlanta lands. But if the right quarterback falls here? Who knows?"

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
