I have to go with Moose.

Dude Moose is probably our 2nd best WR in franchise history. He’s in my top 10 favorite Panthers of all time.

I love the man but he’s definitely not a JAG. I get many of us are throwing around makes that may not be JAGs (myself included) but Moose was pretty elite at his position. He was a legit #1 but we just happened to have Smitty. an all time great, while Moose was with us

There are a lot of people here who don't really understand what a JAG is.

Yeah, to me a JAG is a backup or a short-term starter who should probably be a backup who is only starting because we lack talent at the position. Due to the salary cap, every team has some JAG starters but those guys aren't starting for 3+ years.

Agreed. Anyone who starts for a long time isn't a JAG. A JAG will bounce around the league or are fixtures as backups on a team or special teams before they are out of the league.

Quite a few of the guys mentioned are not JAGS at all.

There's no probably. There's no one else in the discussion yet. Moore should put himself in that conversation pretty soon though.

Smitty #1 and Moose #2 at WR is as set in stone currently as Cam #1 and Jake #2 at QB.

Maybe you forgot about Armanti Edwards and Bersin...

Yeah I agree. I said probably only because DJ could pass him one day and if you wanted to say Keyshawn Johnson was a better WR over his career (which even that might be debatable) but as a pure Panther so far, nobody comes close to Moose for #2

Nick Goings and it isn't close.  He was 4th on the depth chart in 2004 and ended up averaging 100+ yards a game for the last 8 games of the season. And in 2005 played a big part in our playoffs before he got hurt in NFC championship.   Then he hardly ever saw a snap again.

    • https://x.com/4thand1show/status/1975274357174784272?s=46   saw this this morning and came to post something similar. I didn’t just love the team or the wins, I loved those dudes man. They put everything they had out there every Sunday. You didn’t see a rep where anybody on that field was low effort in that era, and if you did they were quickly sent packing.
    • …is Brycen Tremayne with 108 yards. Not sure what that tells us but I imagine it’s some sort of gumbo consisting of the following: - Bryce can’t push the ball downfield  - contrary to what many were saying this offseason, the wr still needs a lot of work.  - we need Coker back badly.  - Brycen is pretty good! Congrats to that young man! Curious to hear other’s read on it. Was a pretty surprised to see he had more yards than anyone other than Tet and thought that was symptomatic of our issues on offense.
    • I don’t think many fans would have guessed the Chiefs and Ravens would be where they are right now. Same goes for some surprise packages like the Colts, I’m not sure many would have put money on them being top of their division after five weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if this continues!   Not necessarily. The Chargers have lost both starting OL and their 1st and 2nd choice RBs. They fell apart against Washington. The Broncos have just beat the Eagles, so they’d be my favourite in that division, but they are still only one win ahead of the Chiefs. All the Chiefs need is a couple of results to go their way and they’ll be right in the fight for the AFC East. I think that division is going to be very close and probably not a 12 or 13 win division like predicted. Unless of course the Broncos kick on.
