Christensen ...

Just a reminder, but Cam's camp and preseason performance as a rookie was so underwhelming that many of us were taking about possibly needing to start Clausen for a bit more while Cam acclimated to the NFL game. The rest is history. Might be a tad too early to start celebrating Wilson as a bust we were spared from.

As for Christensen, let's just hope he needs some seasoning and time to adjust to the NFL level.

To be fair, the running ability is harder to show off in camp and when Cam is a threat to run he’s dangerous with the arm.

Covid made the typical scouting cycle and routine impossible so some people were overhyped and some dealt with crazy prospect fatigue. Wilson has outstanding arm talent but his numbers against teams with losing records compared to teams with winning records probably had the biggest gap between them of all the major QBs in the draft.

He could still ball out. He may break their curse. Normally their QBs look good early and then struggle during the year. Maybe he will be the opposite.

I think the arm talent narrative is greatly overrated.

I still think the bust odds on Wilson and Lance are super high.

Honestly, Cam (nor Jake) never really looked great in camp or preseason, but when it actually mattered they performed.

All I'm saying is the people getting giddy about Wilson evidently struggling right now might be jumping the gun just a tad.

BYU coaching staff created a great offense. The oline worked well and Christensen did a good job. Wilson had plenty of time and Dax Milne (wr) served as a safety net by always being open.

Almost discarded Milne as a prospect but decided to include him since there was tape on him via Wilson. When watching the tape, it looked like the 5-7th round WR made Wilson look great. Wilson left many many yards on that field.

Wilson can still become great, but it made me sceptic. Was it him or his surrounding...

Milne went in the 7th round to Washington. The OC took the OC hob at Baylor.

Why is age relevant at all to a rookie?  Yea, it sucks for the player, it means his potential football career will be shorter.  But for the team?  There is no downside.

You're getting a player who is, in theory, mentally more ready to put in work and learn.  One who will likely only need one more contract done in his entire career.

BC either works out or he doesn't.  Like any rookie.  But his age isn't really a negative as some folks would like to make it out to be.  If he takes a year or two to acclimate to the NFL, and we then get five productive seasons of a "good" NFL lineman, it's a pick well spent.

Brady will be 25 next month. Two years from now he will be 27. Good luck.

Maybe we should draft 12 year olds so we can start developing them even earlier and be sure to get the most possible playing time out of them...

Yeah he’s older. He was a 3rd Rd pick a far worst should develop into a starting level G in a season or two. I know your whole gimmick is the resident troll, but is it possible for you to not overreact just once or are you too mentally immature to have a single adult conversation?

Exactly. It really makes little difference to us unless we are spending a 1st on the guy to be a cornerstone to the franchise. As for everyone else, especially 3rd round and later, five solid years is probably beyond what you would typically hope for

Wilson has been getting shredded in the media for consistently practicing poorly so far and was the worst of all the QBs yesterday in front of the fans at their fan fest. I think he was the only one to not get into the end zone and he turned the ball over twice in three drives.

Yep, they should have drafted Fields at 2. They let the flavor of the week get to them…

his preseason wasn't magnificent in the limited work.  But I still remember that preseason run he had for a TD vs the Bengals.   It was special.  That singular play sold be on he needed to be the dude week 1.
