Chuba replaced Curtis Samuel

David Moore replaced Samuel. That happened during free agency.

Samuel played mostly in slot, on both sides. David Moore can do the same. He could also be in rotation with DJ and Anderson on the outside, which Samuel didn't do. Making the offense more dynamic.

Marshall was to good to not be picked during the draft. Rhule mention after the pick, I don't remember the exact words but he stated clearly that he saw Marshall as an outside guy. With other words, not a replacement for Samuel who was a slot guy.

NOW, during TC Rhule said Marshall will be playing a lot out of the slot. Which is a no brainer. 82% of his snaps were in the slot last season. (edit: I think Marshall will end up as Samuel's replacement, he have a bigger upside than David Moore). BUT Marshall can also play on the outside and could be an Anderson replacement if he end up being to expensive. A great draft pick.

Shi Smith or another earlier WR was probably always a target during the draft. The team needed a long term slot WR and keep the cost down. David Moore have a two year contract. Seahawks picked Freddie Swain in the sixth round last year, flashed some value and I'm sure Fitterer saw that if you do the right evaluation you can find good value WR in the later round.

The team did not rotate players that much last year. Outside the top three, few WR did have an impact. Shi might barely get snaps if he ends up being the fifth WR.

But Shi also had kick return experience which was another need. And so was punt return. Which David Moore have experience of.

I'm not completely sold on Shi Smith, but by adding Marshall and David Moore the WR room looks great and the return game got some good competition.

The fight for the 5-7 WR position will be fun to follow, specially if Trent Cannon can solidify his spot as a returner.

Sorry for the long post.

Just watched the highlights - he definitely had a couple of "welcome to the NFL" moments today.

On the spin move where he broke away for a long gainer that's a TD in the Big 12. Also he tried to hurdle someone later on and got body slammed.

He'll learn - promising RB.

Which was fine because he already ran 14 yds before leaping.

He'll get coached on when to do that and when to take your 15yd gain and move on. I'm sure it's a reflex.

The spin move run seems to show some nervousness at the end. You'd like to see him be confident and just run without looking back. Another thing he will get coaching on.

That's what preseason and coaches are for.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
