Because missing a couple of weeks as a key reserve isn't that big of a deal. Much better than half a season or a whole season.

Injuries are bound to happen, it's the NFL. These are the kinds of injuries that don't derail seasons.

Not to mention he hit the ground running and made impact plays Sunday. He doesn’t really need the reps as a reserve.

I have heard nothing that would indicate that either Burns or Haynes are in danger of missing the start of the season.

Burns' brother said he was fine. Probably won't play this weekend but he will probably get some reps against Pittsburgh.

Haynes may be shut down the rest of the preseason but worst case he should be ready to practice the week leading up to the Jets game so he should be fine too.

    • I think the qualification has changed over time though. A deep ball play used to take 4 to 6 seconds for the receiver to get to that spot on the field. Now a receiver can be there in 2.5. That's less time than most QBs have to set and throw. In my mind a deep route takes time to develop. A crossing route and a deep route can't take the same amount of time at full speed. You can have 4 deep balls on the same drive,  almost 5 if you do 5 20 yard throws goal line to goal line. That doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.
    • The sad part is it looks manicured enough that he's aware it's running away from him.  Also, I just wanted to give you some fun loving grief on King Haynes today having a chance to throw a game winning TD, and was wildly errant, and ultimately picked off to end the game.  So happy I won't have to hear anything else about The Golden Calf of Bristol lite ever again watching college football.
    • I just think Panthers believe in Bryce far more than the fans do and he is most likely going to be the QB at least the next two seasons. the real shot of us moving from Bryce is not getting an extension, till then they are going to give him every chance to succeed and I just want to win.
