Darnold didn't look like a world beater but he did look like a capable starting QB.

The last 3 throws he made were as good as I've seen a Panthers QB make in a long time.

If the offensive line does their job, Darnold won't have to play hero ball. The weapons he has here are legit, and we can win if he can out the ball accurately and on time in their hands.

Love the fact that he seemed to have chemistry with all 3 of Robby, DJ, and TMJ

Want to know who? Our red headed step child from the Saints, that's who.

In literally a single minute of a preseason game his offense allowed Sam to look better than I ever saw him look in New York for a string of plays in crunch time. Sam got to play within the offense and execute the play call; in New York he was constantly forced to improvise and that was his highlight reel.

Even if it was one half in a preseason game, Sam Darnold looks like a first round pick AND he is less than two years older than Justin Fields (whom everyone hob knobs). Based on timing, you would think that he was four years older than Trevor Lawrence but guess what, he's only two years and four months older than Lawrence.

This is a massive advantage for us should it work out as if Darnold were a first round pick just last season.

I haven't been this excited about a Panthers team since probably 2013.

I think you meant knob hobs...but, Yeah.  Me, too.

There will be much excitement here on the 12th, after we gob-smack the Jets.

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
