He wasn't always like that wayyyy back in the day on the scout forums he was even keel.

That was a much smaller forum with a few dozen regular posters and not the constant stream of trolls and overreactionaries that a much higher traffic forum brings. A lot easier to be seen as even keel in the former environment because people aren't constantly overreacting to any and every post.

It’s a QB driven league and we had two high end prospects fall in our laps.

you really got an issue with people thinking a team allegedly in rebuild mode should draft….a QB?

Not at all - but doing so while being unfairly critical of our starting QB in the process before the guy even takes a snap is what I have an issue with.  Darnold played better than any rookie QB who took the field today, and deserves some credit.  As a fan of this team I hope he gets better with every game and outplays Wilson, Fields, Lance etc for a decade or more.  LG is the type of guy who hopes Darnold falls on his face while others shine just say he can say I told you so.

There are a lot of posters rooting for him to fail here just so they could say "I told you so"

I agree - it’s sad really.  If they’re in a Panthers uni, I’m pulling for them to succeed.  That’s what a fan does.

Bingo I was clearly on the tank-a-thon last season but once we signed TB I had wanted to win and him to succeed right up to being playoff eliminated and even then didn't throw a fit.

I think a huge factor is going to be if the O-line gives Darnold any time and protection to make plays.  Saints defensive line isn't bad and will be gunning for Sam...

I have confidence in the defense unless we totally go zone and don't bring pressure.  We sat back a couple of times today and that's when the Jets were able to do something....bring the heat.

I know I posted there, a select few here did. JOAT, if I'm not mistaken even grumpy ickmule did.

We deal with it differently some got pessimistic others (myself) use the opportunity to poke the bear so to speak and poke holes in over emotional posts.

    • Let’s be real, there’s no way the Bengals can trade him for less than first round value from an optics stand point.
    • Disclaimer:  In June, I am usually optimistic.  In October, a policeman with a bullhorn is telling me that I have a lot of life ahead of me and to think about my loved ones as I gaze down upon him from my rooftop.   Having said that, I think our offense (down the stretch) was good enough to play KC and Philly tough.  So how many games would this offense have won if they played the entire season like they did in November-January and if they had a better defense?   If you could stretch the last nine games over an entire season and put a solid defense on the other side, I see 5 wins becoming 7 or 8.  Down the stretch, the Panther D surrendered 30 points or more in 5 of the final 7 games and managed to win 2 of those 5.  If they can win 40% of games in which their defense surrenders 30 points or more, then the math indicates, had that been the case all season, the Panthers should have won 6 or 7 games with their defense surrendering 30+ points.   This season, we are much better at WR (TMac, Renfrow, Horn, and I expect XL to be a lot better).  Bryce is confident and now a leader.    The Achilles' heel of the 2024 defense, the DL, seems to be very solid.  We got back Horn and Jackson on the corners, Smith-Wade is improving better than expected, we signed a stud Safety.  Derrick Brown returns.  While the D is not there yet, it is going to be better.   So if we ended the second half of 2024 playing at a level that should have produced 6-7 wins, better WRs and a better defense could result in 9 wins or more.
