I knew CMC had a lot of touches, but yikes....

He is on pace for 500 touches which would be most in nfl history a record that has been held by James Wilder since 1984. They just paid one of their top wideouts 37 million dollars. Spread the ball around.

You can't extrapolate from one game.  That's like saying Winston's on pace for 85 TD passes.

There is always a reversion to the mean.

His on pace average is right there if you look up the numbers yourself. He averaged 25 touches per game the last two seasons it stands to reason he will continue to see that minimum moving forward for the time being so yes he could and likely will see between 25 and 30 several more times minimum this season.

Want to know whats wrong with this frankly? I'll tell you those 5 touches that you say are right "there" in line amount to an extra 85 touches over a season that's not "right there".

25 per game was good enough for most in the nfl in 2019. Unless the Panthers are blowing a team out or he gets banged up that minimum seems likely to remain. The difference of 5 will depend heavily on our ability to close out games which has been an issue and we nursed a 5 point lead against the worst team in the league as it was this past weekend.

Frank has gotten Fred Weis'd several times in this thread, but it's fun to watch the back-and-forth between hyperbolic claim, disproved point and then the moving of the goalposts (with a little jab at me here and there).

Weren't you the guy who lost your marbles over Luke Kuechly in Bills attire? Just move along.

Talking about 500 games after a sample size of one game to predict touches over 17 games... come on, man. And, that would be a shocker to have usage and other records broken the season the season gains another game.

Players play. Coaches don't get paid to keep their best players on the bench. Injuries happen to even the most coddled assets.

The greats want to be on the field, you can't keep them off of it and you don't want to see the great being kept off the field. CMC is one of those guys.

yall always say this as if fatigue management isn't a regular thing done by coaches every game

The next five weeks are the Saints Texans Cowboys Eagles and Vikings. Each team averaged 24-38 points in week one while we failed to put up 20. It's a safe bet to say McCaffrey's usage isn't likely going down through that stretch. We'll see about the second half of the schedule.
