Zeke Elliott is another one. The backup RB, Pollard, is outperforming him when they hand the ball off but a major reason Zeke is still the main guy and gets the majority of the snaps is because he is a great pass blocker while Pollard is not.

Not miserable at all, just wondering since according to the huddle RBs are so easy to plug and play. We don't need to pay top dollar for one was most peoples sentiment.

Not defending CH or RF, but I mean it's just a case of being realistic imo. 

Rookie and a player who didn't through the off-season in our system.  I wouldn't expect them to be hitting their ceilings yet.  Of course they need to improve.

Also, I'm not in the camp of people that think solid all around RB's are "a dime a dozen".

I think it gets complicated.  While our OL hasn't literally imploded like some thought it would....it still isn't great.  CMC skews things.

I think if you were to put Chubba behind a top OL that simply put him easily into holes....he would look pretty explosive.  But if you are asking a rookie RB to evade a lot of tackles/contact in the backfield or at the line.....he isn't going to make a lot happen.   Especially one that doesn't have a NFL body yet.  Heck, CMC had to put in a lot of work after his rookie season getting a NFL body and to get where he could shake off the first contact he saw.

What I have seen of Chuba has been promising, he has had a couple of decent runs behind a bad run blocking line. I would rather he get the snaps than Freeman when CMC is off the field. Of course Chuba needs time to learn pass blocking, but I would rather he be learning than a 4th year player who probably is not in our long term plans.

This too. The OL hasn't been very good overall, but they've been a lot better in pass protection (probably because we've put so much focus on getting the ball out quickly) than they have been in run blocking. It's especially obvious in short yardage situations. We can't get any push going what so ever.

      Boy the flyers look good early. Lots of bad plays and slow start by our team. Hope that changes before the score changes.

      I guess I should have stipulated outside the sacred cow.   I complained from year one that Bryce should compete for and win the starting job on his own merit but no he was just handed it. I have been right there with everyone that wants competition.  But I don’t really have a huge problem with it for this season the way it has gone because where are the viable people we don’t have to trade for? I actually am okay with tiny hands Pickett because he is so close to Bryce arm strength wise and to be honest, skill wise. Probably. And it is only a one year deal.  That also takes into account that the QB class is looking stacked next year and if Young fails miserably then we get either a reset or a real competition and there will be more guys that I would like looking at in the FA QB class next year as well.    I sort of accept where we are this year and look at it as another treading water year (at QB). I just want to get to next year with some clarity. More than anything. And they did empty out the room. Again, who was really there for us?  And I know it would not be a true competition at this point anyway. They are giving him the year, like it or not.    Also I don’t give a poo about winning games IF he sucks and or goes down after sucking because draft position and that stacked QB class.  And I want out from under him So Bad.     So I guess it is several factors that lessen my anxiety over his backup this particular season.    I am not trying to convince anyone, but you asked. That’s how I look at it.
