That’s a hell of a statement to make to your locker room.

Heck, at this point I'm wondering if Fitterer can trade us.

I mean, I don't really want to go anywhere but at this rate I'm afraid I might wake up tomorrow and find out I've been traded to the Cowboys fanbase in exchange for a Chick-fil-A catering tray 😕

Maybe they should have hedged their bets and took some early round Oline talent during the draft instead of trading back so much.Colin Farrell Reaction GIF

We drafted a 3rd rounder. I’m glad we didn’t get Leatherwood earlier. He looks awful in Oakland.

What can we get for Gooby or that crazy PJ Walker poster?

Well obviously we know they care and they want Darnold to stay healthy but fans also know we have struggled in this area for a decade having seen mistakes firsthand. So at this moment when they are saying "oh poo" of course we are going to say what else did you expect? The we couldn't fix it all at once right now response is valid but then also you have to consider the sheer resources we have put into our defense even as recently as this week while plugging in a couple of depth linemen in free agency who have bounced from team to team lately. We put ourselves in this position like it or not.

That’s the point. It’s much much easier to find DBs than it is to find quality OL.

Teams aren’t even willing to part ways with backups.

Its a scarce position. We have to fill it in the draft. FA is super expensive.

Not a terrible deal. Does it come with sauce?

Yeah we traded our 2nd round pick.  We could have kept that 2nd and got Tevin Jenkins.  We traded that pick with the Bears who took Jenkins.

Instead we chose Marshal in the 2nd, and with the extra picks, Chuba,  Tremble and Nixon.

People were pissed we passed on Jenkins. Tevin Jenkins hasn't played a snap due to back injury and the Bears have 16 sacks on the season, 2nd worst in the league.

I remember the Tevin love.

Fitts needs extra scouts just for OL. Such an easy position to bust on.

    • when we drafted Bryce Young that team might have been more talented than the team we currently have ?  that was the whole reasoning behind morgagting  our immediate future to trade up to #1 overall for BY. our front offices & owners felt like hey guess what the time is now to srike while the iron is hot go hire an All Star coaching staff we were only a Qb away from taking that next step ..just saying
    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
