Teddy scores less than Sam but he is more accurate with his safe throws. I'd believe it for sure. I'd like to note that we are way better in the red zone this year with Sam and Denver has gotten worse in the red zone with Teddy from the year before. Upgrade. Now if we can get Sam to play more consistent that will be the key.

How many interceptions and fumbles will Darnold have against the Giants on Sunday?

As long as he doesn't turn it over on the first fuging play I'll be happy. That's literally all I ask for at this point

If he doesn't play like he did against philly and minny we should b fine, because Jones will have 3 of each.

Sam will play better against the Giants because the Giants are terrible. Very likely we beat the Giants and that might one of our last few wins. Sam will continue to crap the bed against any average or good teams, and that will be it for Sam. No more Sam after this season. It will be Watson to replace him imo, and it will cost our 1st.

SInce it's already clear Sam can't execute our offense, Fitterer might already be working on a deal for a different QB before the trade deadline is up next month. Otherwise we'll go hat in hand to Houston once trading resumes in March. Watson is the obvious QB for us and he's light years better than bottom tier Sam. It's not even close, and Houston is looking to move Watson.

Giants’ defense isn’t that bad. The secondary is just as good and deep as ours. I’m afraid for Sam. They also have guys like Leonard and Azeez that can rush.

Well, Teddy has five 4th quarter comebacks and 6 game winning drives in his career. The last one he had was in New Orleans.

Darnold has a total of three 4th quarter comebacks and 4 game winning drives in his career. The last one he had was in 2019.

Neither of these guys is capable of producing in crunch time. Their track record bears that out.

The growing and learning part.....I am not sure how you see such an obvious regression(visible and statistical) and view that as "growing and learning." What is actually happening is that we are seeing the same player we saw for three years in New York. He just simply isn't the guy.

Quite unfortunately for all of us, we are just going to see more and more of that as the season progresses because we literally have no other option.

How long have each been playing?I’ll take the 3:4 in 1/2 the time it took to get that 4:6…..

im just saying, TB never had that fire, that feeling like he could do it when it neededto be done.. Jake had it, Cam had it, although not always delivered, there was always a shot.. Teddy never gave that off, Sam does, as witnessed this past weekend. Played like ass all game, but drive down to tie it/OT.. Teddy wouldn’t/couldn’t have done that.. With SD, a big fix to a few things & we’ll be good, much more fixing was needed last go round…

it’s coming, don’t be so focused on what’s missing & not see what’s there….

Well I mean any defensive lineman with at least 4 stubs for limbs will be able to rush vs our OL.

But the Giants defense will get gassed imo. Even if Sam poops the bed against the Gaiants and we unexpectedly lose, we have an owner who thought Sam was going to air it out and score a lot of points. Now he's seen that Sam is terrible, and he honestly looks sad and angry. He's had enough.

It looks like both defenses this week will be gassed.

I don't quite have your confidence but the 4th quarter was very very promising.

Gettleman has run the Giants into the ground and now they may be the worst team in the NFL. Our defense should eat the Giants offense alive, but anything can happen.

If we can't beat Gettleman's Giants, then who should we beat?

Remember that we couldn’t beat this guy

and Jalen Hurts who was starting his 9th career NFL game.

    • My general take on the state of the team not going too in depth is this: Either Morgan or Canales (hard to say whether it’s the players or the system/coaching, and that goes for any team) has been responsible for considerable strides forward on D and a bit more productive offense, but it’s been a small sample size and we collapsed at the end of the year. I lean towards it being more Canales growing as a coach and building a culture of buy-in and getting the most out of players in the locker room. My reasoning for leaning there is that Morgan was part of the Fitterer stink and it’ll take him a while of sustained success in roster management to overcome that in my mind. Next year is a big year to see if that was a fluke or not. These big signings this offseason are exciting and sometimes teams can have amazing FA classes but more often than not those who spend big and “win the offseason” don’t show the results in the regular season.    As far as QB goes, in a vacuum I’m completely fine with the Pickett signing, he’s ok value for a backup and a huge improvement over Dalton. If Bryce went down there isn’t a huge drop off there and if the rest of the team builds on last year they could win games with him under center. I’m not sure the ‘85 Bears could win games with current Dalton under center. But the O is just so damn limited with Bryce and Pickett does not push him at all, he’s purely a backup. So I agree we I’d love to see a QB with some upside drafted, a guy who could actually push Bryce if/when he struggles or doesn’t improve any further. He’s improved steadily the last 2 years but it has been from arguably worst in league history to still below average. I’m not convinced he can get any better than purely average at absolute best. I hope he can man but I just don’t see it happening. And the longer we keep penciling him as starter the less confidence I have in this staff. Even with our unexpected relative success as a team last year sometimes you do have to take another step back to take a step forward, and that could mean moving on from Bryce, and temporarily going with a slightly worse player like Pickett while aggressively trying to upgrade the position and taking dart throws in the draft/free agency on upside players. I know, there wasn’t much available this offseason outside of Willis, and this draft class seems to be poor at QB. But I’d have preferred we try something and if it didn’t work and we took a step back then just keep trying until something hits. Rolling with Bryce is just delaying the inevitable and living in purgatory.    just my 2 cents, hope I’m proved wrong
    • His market value is 15.7 million. Not worth it to bring him at his age, at that price. If we were to bring in a veteran, DeAndre Hopkins is available for 2 million market value. I've said this in other threads, get Keenan Allen to play the slot. He's as good as a pass catching tight end and is market is under 7 million.
