Also, since we are on the subject of Teddy not being able to throw it deep:

Passes over 20 yards(source is NFL Next Gen Stats)

Teddy 2020

8/17, 250 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. Passer Rating: 88.48

Teddy 2021

5/15, 172 yards, 1 TD. Passer Rating: 99.86

Darnold 2021

9/24, 284 yards, 1 TD. Passer Rating: 96.53

Boy those 2020 and 2021 results seem pretty similar......

Just Teddy’s numbers being similar or Teddy and Darnold both?

Are those 2020 numbers for teddy for the whole season? Or the same point that the season is at now?

Baloney.    Robbie signed his extension *AFTER* Sam was acquired.

If he didn't want to be on the same team as him, he would've went elsewhere.

And quite frankly, I wish he did go elsewhere.

who leaves that kind of money on the table no matter who you're playing with, Robby made a business decision

agreed. spend draft capital on two WRs but re-sign a guy in a contract year. here are the results, new contract guy got worse.

Just think...that money that's now tied up with Robby could've been used to acquire a COMPETENT O-Lineman.

I'm not saying Top-Tier...JUST F'N COMPETENT!!   🤦‍♂️

it's more concerning the first free agent signing was pat elflein....i'm not sure this staff knows what a competent o-lineman looks like

There’s videos and articles on the internet, probably even on this board of Robby last year saying one of the reasons he signed in Carolina was because of Teddy Bridgwater. He then went on NFLGMF right after the Sam trade saying he was surprised and not expecting it. Don’t accuse me of making it up just because you didn’t pay attention to the news and missed it.

That does not mean that what you said, "There’s a reason why Robby didn’t want Darnold over Teddy," is true.  That is your conclusion.    Also, unless you can link a source you need to indicate it is your opinion not a fact.

Teddy seemed to decline as the year went on throwing it deep, tho. And Darnold is clearly more willing to go deep, which is one of his good sides (but mitigated by the fact he can't connect lol).

Also, relevant to Robby, his yards per reception declined by almost 4 going from Darnold to Teddy. It's bounced up a little more with Darnold again but not to his 15 he had pre Panthers.  Seems usage related.

In other words, it's Joe Brady related.

We send Robby deep. Oline is dogshit, Sam is pressured after 1 sec so deep is never an option. End of analysis.

if we follow through with Rhule’s comment on running the ball more, maybe we connect on a play action pass downfield. That’s really our only hope and I think there is actually a pretty good chance of that this week. 24 will be on DJ, I assume.
