well the better question (assuming what appears to be more clear - he isn’t the answer) is who exactly are you attracting with arguable one of the worst lines in the league, a whiny bitch Robbie who drops everything and a RB the staff has no clue how to use and is not on the field…

and not to mention a franchise averaging 6 wins since 2017…

oh an 1 pick in the first three rounds (as of now) to reasonable fix any of it

Stafford already said f no

you’re left with attempting to get a QB willing to come here or begrudgingly traded here or draft something, which you’d probably have to trade up from (and possibly reach) mid pick since this is the shittiest qb class to come out in a while..

everyone who constantly shits on Darnold should really be secretly hoping he turns around to be at least worth another year because there isn’t going to be exactly a plethora of options

course you could always say fug it and trade your future for a alleged rapist, he probably can’t be too picky

Really the only options are Trubisky in FA or Sam Howell/whoever looks decent in the draft to sit until Sam implodes. 22 is a really rough draft for QB's. I don't think Rhule or Tepper are looking for a Fitz or Foles. Tepper is probably pissed they didn't take Fields for the ticket sales alone

Rhule is tied to him now, maybe they could draft Sam Howell next year but unless Fitt gets really creative that means our next pick would be a 3rd round O-line guy and then a bunch of developmental 5-7 picks. I don't think Rhule is getting a third chance on a starting QB, I think the only realistic FA option would be Trubisky. Rhule will probably use Brady as a scapegoat, get a new OC and either things click or Tepper cleans house

Brady needs to continue to get meaningful snaps this year. We need to see where he’s at and if he can maybe be a future starter. If Brady could get starts at LT or guard and look decent I’d make a FA lineman splash and draft a qb in the first round. Use that 3rd on an interior olineman and go from there. We are not fixing this oline in one off-season. If rhule sticks with Darnold he’s gonna be done here quick.

He is 24 and has all the tools to be good so he gets another year. If they can get a line to give him some time and a running game he could be very good if he cuts out the bone headed mistakes. Realistically what other options at QB are there??? Watson will sit in purgatory it looks like. Rogers would never ever come here.

Naw you don’t pick it up. If Darnold balled out this year we would be looking at extending him this coming off-season either way. Yeah you might have to deal with others bidding on him but he more than likely would’ve stayed here. He had a higher chance of continuing to be a bust then actually succeeding but this staff has been delusional about qbs since day 1 so whatever.

ehh you’re stuck with paying big money based based on only 1 single year of decent play

then what if he does enough to warrant an extension but you need to see more…to know for sure? now you’re stuck with more money and more importantly, multiple years

personally, the option wasn’t a big deal to me, but again personally, I’d rather of just drafted Fields and keep our second pick than risk the above two scenarios

i get what the Panthers were doing, they wanted to get as much of a look of him at the cheapest price with lowest risk of being stuck or not knowing enough to shell out money

it’s very, very easy to say now the option wasn’t worth it, when he is playing like trash but before the fact/hindsight it wasn’t a big deal as the pick itself was worth more than the option

I was referring to Joe Brady being the scapegoat sorry. I do think Christensen should be playing his natural position of LT.

I said it from the beginning. Go look at those threads. There were several of us.

If they cut Cam/Teddy/Sam back to back who in their right mind would wanna take this over another job? Trubisky is the only guy on the market next year that would take a gamble, and that's probably another sideways move

Man, I don’t think you’re fixing Darnold. He’s an inaccurate passer, who isn’t able to process what’s going on on the field quick enough. It was that in NY, and it’s that here.

Rhule might have to either sink or swim with Darnold. Unfortunately, I believe he is going to sink.

No way in hell Tepper is giving Rhule a 3rd free agent QB project. Draft the best O-lineman in the 1st and good luck with picks 3/5/6/7

the point is the pick

Darnold is being paid $12m a season for two years, that’s peanuts in the scheme of things, especially on this team who isn’t winning anytime soon. hell right now the Panthers have 12m alone sitting and doing nothing

you don’t sign Darnold long term after one year of play

and you don’t give up a second round pick for a one year rental

the argument is losing that second round pick (and preferably drafting Fields)

believe it or not that option money really doesn’t mean much at all future wise, significantly less than the second round pick

will just have to agree to disagree

I actually think one of the biggest mistakes this coaching staff made this year was not bringing in any competition for Sam. At the very least they should’ve tried to get another young quarterback in to push Sam…for example like Trubisky. PJ is not that guy. Competition is good especially when you don’t have a proven starter.

God, that’s perfect. I’d thought about Mariota but yeah, they’ll salivate over Trubisky next spring and give up either a future first or a future second for him.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
