Losing to the Giants - should someone get fired?

Not a fan of reactionary mid season firings, particularly for a relatively young team and couching staff in what is essentially year two of a rebuild.

BTW, we were never as good as some thought we were. We're arguably a bottom 10 team ourselves even though no one wants to hear it. Plus, this is the NFL and "any given Sunday..."

Nicely stated.

To add to this, firing someone so soon can also send the message that Tepper, Rhule, and Fitt don't know what they are doing. Sure, some will claim it makes them look like they are quick to correct a mistake, but it really doesn't. Whoever the replacement is could be worse. Then toss in keeping Rivera and Hurney so long with the way Cam and then Teddy were treated, and it doesn't paint a pretty picture for current brain trust.

I mean I don’t have a great endorsement of the current owner considering all the team has done since he bought the team is have massive losing streaks every season.

Sadly what we think of Tepper or any other sports team owner doesn't matter one bit. They are the super wealthy and owning sports teams is just an ego stroke for them since they are exclusive clubs with few members. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tepper try buy a MLB team and the Hornets so he could claim to be the only or one of the very few owners of a team in all the major American sports.

This is a bit hyperbolic. Losing would suck but I don't think this is the moment the wheels necessarily come off nor should we start firing/hiring/etc.

a loss sunday and you can kiss what playoffs hope had goodbye and yes the wheels will start to come off hell the way tepper loooked sunday he already getting impaitent.

I've always assumed the order of firings (if they were to happen mid-season) would go Snow (due to the investment in D), THEN Rhule, and lastly Brady as that would give them a chance to see how he performs as top dog as a young coach.

Interesting, especially because it is possible Tepper is believing the boy genius hype.  I just don't see Rhule ever firing Snow.  And while you're right on the investments, the fact Rhule is forcing a change in gameplan/strategy on O tells me he isn't happy with Brady.  If Rhule tries to fire Brady, and if Tepper stepped in... would be interesting.

Why would they fire the defensive coordinator first? He has the only unit playing at a high level on the year?   Plus, Snow is the only actual Matt Rhule guy of all the coordinators.  That's Rhule's guy.  The most impactful guy to Rhule's career success.  Temple and Baylor got to where they got under Rhule via Snow's defenses.

Brady, Chase, position coaches, players.  Matt Rhule would throw a lot of guys into fire before Snow.

Because it's the area we've put in the largest investments.

It's easy to say the offense isn't good because we have a bad OL and a bad QB and CMC is out.

If anyone gets fired and that's a big if it will be because the defense doesn't find their early season form. The offense is what it is at this point.

I think if any firing happensto a coordinator it will be because Tepper forces the hand.

I haven't been impressed with Brady at all, but what we don't know yet is how much of the team's offensive identity is truly his.

It's all speculation. I don't see anyone getting fired this season.

and it's the #3 rated D.  #6 in points.   And he is currently without the leader of the D and his first rounder.

I mean, they literally gifted wrapped one of the losses, the Philly game....and the O still managed to give it away.

9 minutes left in the game on Sunday....the Panther offense had 80 passing yards on the day.  And you don't understand why the Panther D ended up having a bad day vs one of the best offenses in terms of skill position players?

The D was probably better in the Philly game than the Houston game.  With even the most average offense that day....it's a blow out.

bad offense quarter after quarter....means a good defense will end up giving yards and points.

Well he also managed to screw up the stadium with turf, field level suites for opposing fans, and of course the endzones. Oh and keep pounding seems gone again

    • I miss many of the OGs like @ladypanther Zob had a bad off week and came in here to do some mopping and a couple of the 10 year 15k post account he just banned over a silly disagreement, just odd behavior from Zob. A Pessimal deal happened with Lady and others. I tired to find a new forum and could not get around the signing up part...same for discord. Its not perfect here by any means, but I still feel welcomed here for the most part and this place does have the most freedom. I hate how the right vs left BS nearly cooked this place, I still believe in removing the litterbox, toxic as hell and lollolols @ anyone coming into a team forum to talk about pointless politics of the uni party turds.  @Bear Hands you saved this place with your activity. It helped offset the lost of OGs and the knowledgeable that leftd.    It would help for new members and I do get the spammers deals, just got to mod them away and hope opening the door brings in fresh blood.
    • Young went to bama and Brissett went to nc state.
    • That seems about right. No higher than that for a bottom third qb with two years left, including one expensive year. He played well enough last year to show he is startable. It depends on whether other teams thought he has any upside left and whether he's been hindered by coaching and surrounding cast. I think most teams would answer no, but if they thought he could step it up just a little I could see trading a fourth or fifth for a bridge guy/top tier backup.
