I’ve noticed they actually haven’t been saying anything about this is the 100 straight sold out game. Are we not selling out anymore?

If memory serves...I think the Panthers organization (Under JR) was buying all unsold tickets. And then reselling them. So the "sell out" streaks were never real to begin with. Just ... fluff.

PSL holders are spending their hard-earned money on the PSL...

...the incremental game-day spend hinges on a combination of the opponent and generally how the team is faring on the season.

This is normal.

This is also an incredibly attractive/effective model from an ownership perspective.

Not when they are selling their tickets which are ending up in the hands of opposing fans. Isn’t that the issue we are having here?

PSL owners have no idea who they sell to on Ticket Master.  We have 3 options when selling and only one can guarantee a Panther's fan in those seats.  That is we have to KNOW beforehand the person is a Panther's fan and sell/donate/give directly to them.  By donating tickets or selling them through Ticket Master, the purchaser is anonymous.

The real problem as I see it isn't the PSL owners not trying to get butts in their seats, I attempt to sell mine each and every week that I don't attend.  The problem is apathy with this team because they are SO BAD that unless you figuratively...sometimes literally give the seats away, the fair weather fans won't even bite.

I listed my tickets yesterday at just about 50% off face value and they didn't sell.  So is it my fault the team is so bad that even heavily discounted ticket go unused?

It's an "issue" for you and a few others...

...but certainly not something ownership is going to react to.

Think about it from an ownership perspective:

> Get the PSL money, check.  >> Get the season-ticket money, check.  >>> Get a commission on the new on-line-only resale/scalping system, check.  >>>> Get the game-day concession revenues etc from whoever uses the ticket, check.

Rinse & repeat...

...no way ownership upsets that model just to keep some opposing jerseys out of the seats.

If they had sold how much of the money would you have kept?

Do they disclose how much goes to the Team and TM?

10 Year PSL owner here.

PSST. The "opposing fans" issue in Bank of America stadium? It's not because PSL Owners are selling their tickets. It's because Panthers' "fans" aren't buying them.

The choice to sell a ticket is objective. Ticketmaster is a platform without allegiances or fandom. Instead of trying to figure out how so many opposing fans got tickets, you need to start asking why Panthers fans aren't the ones buying those same tickets.

If you say to yourself "I'm not spending any money to go see the Panthers", THEN YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. If you are one of those people who say "If I had Panthers' PSLs...". STOP RIGHT THERE. The Panthers are actively selling PSLs. I believe there was/is an advertisement for PSLs as low as $20/month. Go sign up. Are you hesitant to sign up because the Panthers suck right now? Fair. But don't complain about the number of opposing fans in the stadium then.

The product on the field, and the lack of perennial success (the Panthers still have not had back to back winning seasons. Ever.) combined with the fact that the Panthers have only been around for ~25 years all contribute to the current situation.

you're not allowed to make sense with Hershel from Harrisburg. He wants a scanner at the gates and if it picks up apparel on someone that is not black and blue in color then they are denied entry. That's some 3rd grade level whining right there

There is a small "fee" probably Ticket Master's cut, so like 98% of the sell goes to the PSL holder.  The team doesn't get anything.  They could care less because the season ticket package is already paid for in full prior to the season.  The team already has their money, it's just the bad optics of empty seats is their primary concern.

👍

What if it's a big game like Dallas and the ticket goes for double face value?  Do the economics change?

R-A-R-E, but yes.  That's scalping and illegal, but it's seldom one can sell tickets more than face value here in Carolina.  Other teams, it may be commonplace.  Here it has to be a marquee team and/or a marquee match up.  We've been so bad in recent years that there's really no such thing as a marquee match up.  So, it would take a team like Dallas or Green Bay coming to town to get such a sell.  Even then, it's THEIR fans buying tickets at that price, not ours.

There, once again, is the problem.

This is my biggest request as a 16 season (and unfortunately counting) PSL holder.  Tepper needs to address this as soon as the season is over.

I hate the losing, full stop, but nothing has made me question my commitment to this team more than the stadium being taken over by opposing fans.

I'm tired of experiencing it, I'm tired of trying to bring my son into Panthers fandom with all of it, and I'm tired for all the loyal Panthers fans who have tried to stick by the team.

Another wasted season is bad enough... if I am going to have to suffer through this BS excuse for an offense, the least I can ask is to endure the humiliation amongst actual Panthers fans without having to have other fans gloat while I waste another day and several hundred dollars on what is proving to be a futile endeavor.

It's just adding a layer of embarrassment and humiliation that I can't continue to ignore...

Tepper is worth $14B+.  If he cares about this fan base, he will do something as soon as humanly possible, finances be damned.

I understand winning is the best thing for the fanbase, but in lieu of that (since "developing sustained success" evidently is a 5 year-plus plan), I need something from Tepper that lets me and the other loyal fans know he cares.

It's not even the money, although the financial commitment is significant.  I'm tired of pouring my heart and soul into supporting the team live when it seems like no one cares.

I'm not a blowhard who says I'm not going to watch (b/c I will), but I can't continue to waste my time and money and Sundays with my son on this nonsense.

I'm not spoiled enough to believe I deserve a win as a fan, but I do deserve a better stadium experience.

If Tepper can't provide that, he should sell the team to someone who can.

I'd rather have a half full stadium of Panthers fans than a 3/4 full stadium with 40+% opposing teams fans.  And that is honestly the case at this point.

It's absolutely out of control and is more demoralizing to me than anything else.

I can continue to be patient on this master plan, but not with the current disregard for PSL owners who want to support the team.

Tepper should cancel the PSL's for owners who sell their tickets consistently and buy them out.  It may be a short-term loss, but he should be worried about the current trajectory of the Panthers most loyal fans towards apathy.

It simply cannot continue like this if the Panthers want the support from the most committed fans.

End rant, but I know there are thousands of other PSL owners like me that have had enough of the BS.

I was at the Philly game and when we were on offense it sounded as if we were in Philly.  When Philly was on offense I could barely tell it was 3rd down.  I totally agree.  I know Carolina is a perfect place because we have a good location.  Teams from the North and South don't have far to travel but damn. Can't we fill at least 3/4 of the stadium with Panther fans.
