Meet Yesterday's Offensive Line

LT:  When the former college C and professional backup G went down, we replaced him with Offensive G Daley.

LG:  A good run blocker, Jordan is famous for being the guy in Cincinnati who whiffed on the block that led to the Burrow injury that ended his season in 2020--and he is named after a successful basketball player.

C:When Paradis went down with yet another injury, the Panthers resorted to a Baylor Bear who was not pursuing an NFL career until Rhule convinced him to join the Panthers.  A practice squad player turned active roster by default.  Remember, Elflein has experience at C and I think he was active. (not sure)

RG: A backup T.  So we had a G playing LT and a LT playing RG.  And everyone was OK with that?

RT:  Moton.

Any questions?

Elflein was inactive, but he will likely start at center when healthy. Where was Christenson yesterday?

Elfein was so bad.  The team that drafted him, cut him before he even finished his rookie deal despite having a bad OL.
Then went to a terrible Jets OL.  And was so bad, they didn’t even attempt to resign him.

we made Him a priority day 1 FA signing

Christensen, who we were assured had been graded very highly, played a couple of snaps on special teams yesterday.

That's how bad we apparently are at assessing offensive line talent.

From the coach's room to the front office to the scouting department, Tepper has managed to put together one of the worst organizations in the NFL. We would be the Detroit Lions or the NY Jets if we didn't have some talent left over from the Rivera/Hurney drafts.

I remember people laughing and pooing when I said if we didn't break five games this year that Rhule would be gone, contract or not. It not only doesn't sound unreasonable at this point, it sounds like a fuging good idea.

Based on our punt coverages I could imagine him being a gunner lol. Sure seemed like it sometimes.

    • Very true. I just think in a situation like this, even if the HC is a problem, firing him this early in your #1 overall pick's career is going to end up doing more harm than good.   If you wanted a head start on other HC searches, that's fine, but fire him in Week 14 or something to accomplish that.  Continuity, even with questionable coaching decisions, is better for a rookie than making this change and now having even worse coaches in charge of his development.
    • Yea it is crazy the change in inside linebacker play the past two weeks.
    • This one isn't me complaining, it's pointing out that we still missed an opportunity, I see them as very different things. I gave the players and coaches their props yesterday, I enjoyed watching that game and enjoying the win.  But those things don't mean that I'm not going to ask questions when I see a stat like this and realize that even in a good win that I was happy with, there were still missed opportunities to help improve our players.
