The question should be asked what does Tepper do at the end of the season if Fields keeps trending up and meanwhile we gave away 3 picks and 18 mill for the worst qb in the league when Tepper was known to want Justin? It’s gonna get really uncomfortable if that happens. Gotta think Tepper is watching fields’ games.

I’m sure he was watching last night.  Bet the old Steeler guy still tunes in so he can talk it up with his old crew.

Next year is a wash. We won't fix the QB position and the offensive line this off-season.

The coaching staff have proven to be incompetent at game planning, calling games, and selecting personnel. We picked up a 5th year option on one of the worst QBs in the NFL without seeing him play a down for us. We have no day 2 picks. We are overpaying for a WR who I'm pretty sure has the most drops in the NFL. We owe the aforementioned QB 18 million next year.

What makes you think this staff will be competent in their FA and draft decisions come next year? We need to fix the entire oline and find a QB. The two hardest position groups to find decent players.

We have been set back at least 2 years unless this organization performs a miracle in the off season.

And Tepper seems more concerned with growing his empire than building a culture around this team. The future looks bleak if we stay on this course.

Edit: And yes, as Firefox mentioned... hyperbole. But the point stands. We shot ourselves in the foot this off-season

Oh I agree with some of your points, however the excessive use of hyperbole on this site (not just you, from a lot of people) just takes away from your main points.

We are completely lost offensively. I’m very impressed with our D and the coaching on that side. Special Teams seem to have come around as well.

The comments about Tepper not caring that are rampant around here are also ridiculous. One minute he’s Dan Snyder, the next he is not involved enough. Not sure how you can say he doesn’t care. Based on what? Some bad decisions?

No lie.  Nagy is easily one of the worst HC in the game.  An offensive guru who can’t coach a competent offense, or really do anything with competence.

yeah, talk about trying to in spite of a coach.  That's the Bears.

Anyone who said they wanted him had their post pood. Evause we had the legendary Sam darnold and coach rule was going to turn him into Joe Montana. Everything was the jets fault.

sometimes you have to embrace the poo emoji.

bunch of people got caught up in the Sam Darnold might be good Kool-Aid.

Big drive by Fields to take the lead with a minute left.  He keeps taking steps forward each and every week.

last two weeks he is looking pretty good for rookie of late.

and that gives their fan base something to look forward to.

Everyone who tries to compare Sam to Fields at this point in time is stupid.  Fields is a rookie.  This is Sam's 4th year.

I'm not saying Fields will turn out to be elite, but he still has time to develop.  Their fan base has something to hope for.

With Sam you usually know what you have with a player after 2-3 years.

and really, that is all football is at this level, selling hope of something to people for entertainment.

and we have none to sell at the moment.

And Fields cap hit is about $4.5m a year for another 3 years, Darnold is $18m next year plus whatever value you can put on the 2nd and 4th round picks we traded away for him

This "we are going to treat him as a rookie" carp they tried to sell was asinine.  First of all his contact alone nullifies that.  With a rookie you have 3-4 years to decide to invest heavily.  With Sam we invested before he even played for us with the 5th year option.

Also people love to point out that 1st round picks like Fields have a low chance of working out historically.  That is true, but first round picks that get drafted and play terrible for their 1st three years I'm guessing have even less of a chance of being successful.

Don’t sleep on Robby whenever we get a new qb. Not saying he’s gonna be a 1k yarder but he’s not this bad. I didn’t want to sign him to a second contract fwiw but he’s not as bad as the stats show. Sam has just full on imploded any opportunity for him to come back from the drops and make plays.

Yep. An "offensive guru" who fell backwards into a decent team or two because of a dominant defense. LOL!

100%, the fact that he has a winning record all-time is one of the Great Wonders of the World.  He owes his defensive talent and Vic Fangio his paychecks for those seasons

But...so many people here say Darnold doesn't make reads and checks everything to CMC. They are obviously super informed.

Late to the party, but this smells just like when we signed Jake, only with more negativity.

You have had a lot of things to say about Justin Fields but how do you feel about these takes now hoss? 🤔
