Lol whatever.

At no point during his time in the league has he ever looked like someone who was more than a low-tier starter, even in NO where he rode the wave. Dumping Cam for Teddy in the first place was a red flag and lo and behold we saw exactly how that played out, and continues to play out in Denver.

With that said Cam is not the Cam of old and will not be saving the day. However, he offers dynamics and hopefully an indication that the brain trust is evolving in their decision making, particularly around the QB position. Sucks that the hold is so deep now though.

Your thoughts on Teddy who is a top 15 QB in this league is of no consequence to the fact that Rhule sealed his fate by dumping a competent QB and turning the team over to someone who won't even be in this league outside of a back up role.

Going back to Cam was the best choice seeing how Rhule bungled this whole thing from the start.

If Tepper stepped in and overruled Rhule, that doesn't bode well for Matt.

Head Coaches don't tend to last long after they lose the trust of their employers.

Nothing has changed...

...Tepper has been a party to major decisions all along...

...it's the Appaloosa Way.

Rhule is fine.

Top 15... statistically perhaps, but not a chance in reality. Only the rookies (and maybe not even Mac Jones), Daniel Jones, Hurts, Darnold after the last couple of weeks, and Tyrod could be argued as worse starting QBs and Tyrod might even be a bit better; even Wentz and Goff have shown the ability to win games when the chips are down. Teddy is an undynamic player with no guts, and suck as he has even Darnold completed a 96 yd game-tying drive with the clock winding down, something Teddy failed at 8 times last year with a better OL and better receivers. It was clear by the end of the year that the situation with Teddy was untenable, be it Rhule's fault or otherwise, and the mistake was giving the keys to Sam uncontested.

Other than that I agree with your final sentence. This whole series of events just should never have happened. It will be interesting to watch the team and coaching dynamics over the coming weeks with Cam coming back into the fold. Wonder if Rhule's tune and/or tone change. Guy's got a lot left to prove IMO.

Statistics are reality, they are a quantitative metric of how a quarterback compares to his counterparts.

You're talking about one drive that Sam Darnold pulled out of his bum in a game he sucked for the majority of. I'll rather have consistency than a flash play here or there.

Statistics lie, and/or don't always tell the whole story. I'm definitely not saying that Sam is better because of one drive but it goes to show what Teddy lacks, and it's a critical thing.

From a Cam perspective we know he has that factor. Question now is what else might still be there. Just such a dumb series of events to even arrive at this point.

    • Not in same league. Caldwell just hit a 10.00 on the RAS. 2nd out of 3830 from 1987 onward.  https://x.com/MathBomb/status/2027885023387349047 Yeah I mean Louis had a sub 9.00 RAS. Still very very good, no doubt. Louis is small, no 2 ways about it. He is likely a sub package lb in nickel packages or specialized WLB. Be fine ST gunner to start for sure. 6 foot flat and 220lb is pushing it for a starting LB. At 10 to 20lbs less than the other LBs he'd better be closer to the top in most timed drills. He's gonna be challenged when some of the wrs in the class can matchup bigger stronger faster, much less TE in the run game.  Yeah instinct matter and he has them, but that size is a massive red flag compared to many of the other LBS in this class.    Rodriguez is the LB that really climbed this week from a pure grit guy to great flash with athleticism people wrote off cause he was a QB at first at UVA. 18.4mph in the backpedal. Production the last 2 years were great. I'd be thrilled with him as the future mike.   Hill likely moved out of 51 and into the top 45 picks ( Ravens at 45 I can't imagine don't bite if he makes it there). Honestly Hill imo is a 1st rounder and I'd be ok with him as he fits the MLB we have missed the last few years. People would crow it's a reach but he's top 30 all-time I'm RAS for a LB at 9.9+ . Plus he was big time in big games when he was healthy. And that br a big check: meds.
    • Miller, Melo, Coby, Moose, and Bridges all on the floor at the same time must be a nightmare for defenses lol. Switch one out for Kon and still a nightmare. Coby really does bring a true 6th man value and looks like he could start if Melo was out after only a few games of getting his feet wet.
    • Well I guess he should stop playing football. This was his defining moment and chance to prove he was generational and he failed. What a waste of football life..
