I don't honestly remember the discussion.

I would say right now that while this team certainly has talent in spots (this year's receiver group would definitely trump the 2015 bunch) the coaching staff is...deficient.

Thomas davis said "this 2021 team is better/more talented than the 2015 one". I laughed hard and got mad about him giving the fans hope. I said the 2015 team would skull drag 2021 unit and you dis-agreed with that. Even said you should know better, but you seem to think that this team would beat or even be favored. Now at 5-7, I wondered if you had a chance of heart?

In all seriousness, I have no doubt that Rhule would be tempted to leave for Ok or Notre Dame.  The question is, do either of those schools want to hire him?

I don’t see how you could sell Matt Rhule to Notre Dame alumni and fans.  Really any school that views themselves a legit perennial contenders.

Matt Rhule seems like a guy that could of jumped from Baylor to a SEC job like South Carolina.

I think his 2nd biggest win was against a 18th ranked ECU.......... ecu had their normal dive after the game...

His only ranked wins were vs. ECU and Navy. ECU turned it over 5 times and out-gained Temple roughly 4:1.. Navy turned it over 3 times. Temple was +8 in turnover margin in those two wins. Both Temple and Navy both dropped out of the rankings after those losses and ended those seasons roughly .500ish.

I asked this then and I ask again- What on earth...stop...how did Rhule become the "hottest" prospect in the NFL? Panthers were not alone in wanting him, even year before the Jets wanted him. Plus how did he honeydick billionaire Tepper when they met at his home?  That face-to-face preaching power must be beyond numbers.

college football because of early polls creates too many fraudulent narratives  It’s like UGA getting to claim they beat the #3 team in Clemson to open up the season.   Reality is they beat a top 20-25 caliber team.

early polling misrepresents what Clemson was this year.  That’s how Rhule got his 2 top 25 wins.   Those weren’t actually top 25 teams when the dust settled.

Don't listen to the noise, he was a very good college coach.  Gave Temple some of its best seasons, then had Baylor in the Sugar bowl in three years.  Beating ranked teams is not a big deal playing in a conference that doesn't have many of them.  A team has to beat who it plays.

But good in college does not equal good in the NFL.  He was good in college and he should go back.  🙂

UNC was a top 10 preseason team. Without Sam Howell, we'd have two maybe three wins. 😂

that wasn’t Gamecock hate.  They are local and an easy example of the type gig that should of come next for a coach like Rhule.

That would have been a big jump for Rhule to land a gig like South Carolina.
