Because recruiting is a huge pain in the ass...

And NCAA rules and regulations are a pain.

But I doubt that matters to a head coach that much, as the staff does most of the preliminary work for recruiting and they have staff members that deal with regulations.

One of the things I remember from the Steve Spurrier time at Washington was that they compared him to Joe Gibbs.  During the season, Gibbs would often sleep in the office, while Spurrier would never put that much time in.  At least that was the rumor.

Why would Rhule walk away from a $60 million contract in his 2nd year.  Seems it would be better to get fired and collect on the contract then go back to college football.  Perhaps his ego can't handle this and he knows the NFL is too much for him.

Rhule almost 100% has an offset clause.   He wouldn't get to collect two salaries.  If a college hires him the Panthers wouldn't have to pay him.  They would only have to pay the difference in the salaries if one existed.

What?!

I mean it looks like there may have been a nibble here or there with some cryptic tweets and internet sleuths connecting the dots. I know the Clemson AD just left for greener pastures in Miami. Another odd tidbit is that Clemson has a bunch of open scholarships.
sounds pretty far fetched but man that would be a big domino to drop if Dabo left lol.

Are you drunk?
feel free to google him and check out all the rumors from the different programs he had been associated with in the past.

If he has any skeletons in his closet they will come out if he goes to a big time program like OU.

Stop man…as a UNC diehard that I am I know a ton of “benefits” we gave football recruits.  I know for a fact many times.  We aren’t at all clean either.  Stop calling out every single coach that deserves a shot.

    • Yeah Icky getting hurt really messes with what we need to do. I think we could go OT this draft as a result of that injury.  But we have cap space and I have enough trust in the FO to fill the holes prior to the draft at this point.
    • I dont think he was ever sold as a offensive genius.  He was sold as the QB 'fixer'.  I would say that the jury is still out on that. He has this next year to make BY a top 15 QB. If he does that then I think he earns that title considering that last year BY was talked about being the biggest draft bust ever.
    • Mays I view like BC. He can do an admirable job as a starter but he will never be anything other than a bottom third starter. He is a top shelf, critical backup. Hunt would be a net negative salary cap impact to cut/trade this offseason. He also has a $9 mil guarantee that gets triggered on March 13. He would be easier to move in 2027 but I am not sure there will be many takers at his salary. We need to start getting serious about drafting a real C, some interior depth/starters and at least one starting caliber OT. As much as a strength as that unit has been, we are over invested monetarily and the returns have been underwhelming.
