Adam Schaffer now singles out Matt Rhule as the only failing coach who hasn’t been fired, yet.

One of the more damning things (out of MANY) on Matt Rhule was in the Person article a few weeks ago. This really is the lows of the lows for this team.

Meanwhile our first order of business after another 5 win season was to get PJ Walker under a new contract.

It’s so panthers to keep a flailing HC while all other losing teams snatch up quality young coordinators. Only to fire rhule mid season next year and have no promising replacements available because they’re all head coaches already

I saw a stat yesterday where if the records were flipped by “team that scored first in games” we would be 12-5. First drives are scripted, and hell we look damn good in them. Just goes to show you we have the talent to be a good team, the lack of coaching adjustments throughout games to keep lifting that talent is obvious.

This tidbit under Schefter tweet is interesting

You can have a quick turnaround in the NFL if you know what you’re doing. Plenty of examples.

the “program builder” I keep hearing for Rhule is fuging stupid and irrelevant. You don’t need four years to build poo in the NFL. That sort of logic applies to college football when a program like Temple or UNC Charlotte or ECU has nothing but time to let a guy come in and create something. Not in the pros. Win now or GTFO.

That was another kick in the balls. I like PJ and his attitude and he is an easy young man to pull for but he is NOT an NFL QB and if he starts more than an emergency one game for your team you are in serious trouble.

The lack Of adjustments and playcalling tweaks after half time is the worst I’ve ever seen from a NFL coaching staff. I mean WTF you doing at half time because it sure as hell wasn’t your job.

I cringed every time I saw someone using the word "program" to describe the Panthers. Worst team in the league with very little real NFL experience on staff. Who could have predicted this right?

Lighten up. With Rhule returning we have a great opportunity to land the No.1 overall pick in the 2023 draft. Too bad this isn't madden where we can just sim the season and not have to sit through it.

Defense is good enough to win enough games to not be worse than the Jags/Jets unfortunately.  Top 3 maybe but not bad enough to be Top Overall.

I agree the program builder is a stupid thing to say here it’s apples and oranges. These are paid professionals who need adequate coaching and game planning. Not 18 year old kids you can boss around and threaten to send home to mommy and daddy.

Yes.  It's been a headscratcher that seemingly smart people keep referencing the year 3 turnaround. It works in college because you need time for your recruits right out of high school to catch up and compete with 22 year old 5th year seniors.

except that we won't get first pick. we'll win games...early on in the season and then we drop off the cliff.

we're looking at a consistent 4-5 win coach.
