Yes. Me and everyone else including tv analysts need more context ? What ? Lol

Yes you do..

He was being honest didn't say Slater was a bad player at all.. But reality is most or alot of scouts and draft analysis saw Slater as a guard...

He proved alot of ppl wrong but hindsight is 20/20.. But at no point in the interview did he trash Slater..

With all due respect he questioned his size, position , and even threw in the QB he blocked for was mobile - for a little cherry on top

This isn’t complicated. The fact I’m even having to explain it to you LOL

So did Half the scouting and draft analysts community... So did half the guys on the 4 man Rush (who posted the Twitter breakdown) When they thought Darwasaw would be the better OT of the 2... When they were doing their pre draft analysis...

But it's funny how the fake astonishment when they thought the same thing...

He didn't trash him, but he intimated that he was better than advertised because of Herbert's mobility. That's a bad look into itself, but he threw it out there after a somewhat weak attempt to rationalize his whiff. It was clownish. I'd respect Rhule more if he admitted his mistakes as opposed to trying to justify everything. He talks as though he's some accomplished head coach in the league that everyone should listen to because he's that guy. I don't see any humility in this guy, and that's a problem for a coach that ain't done poo except make a lot of questionable if not outright bad decisions.

He was being honest and that is clownish now??

Honest question is it a Wiff if Jaycee doesn't get hurt and plays at the level he was going before the freak injury???

Here is what he said,

“Yeah, that was a really harder decision. You know like, Rashawn had not played the prior year…um, he wasn’t ideal tackle size… there was a lotta questions of whether he was a guard…same thing with like Alijah Vera-Tucker… so it was really like, “Hey are you going to take a guy that was kind of like a guard at this number(draft position)?” You  know I think with Rashawn, I had a chance to go back and watch cause he is playing out with the Chargers with a really mobile quarterback….”

However, if you go back and listen to it you would know that right before that statement and after being prompted about Slater, he said that if he had to do it again he would take Jaycee each time as he believes  that Jaycee is going to be a star player and pro bowler.

Not once did he say that he did not like Slater.

The O-line should've been the priority. I get that some people questioned Slater's projected ability in the league regarding OT, but many did not! Many considered him the more sure NFL-ready OT. As crappy as our line was on paper, investing in Slater was very rational (if not the play).

Looking at how Slater has actually panned out, and how Rhule tries to downplay his skill after the fact is clownish.

Oline should have been a Priority ... Yes we got that.. But so was Secondary.. Especially when last year we couldn't stop any passing team..

Ppl keep playing the hindsight 20/20 game now when their opinion wasn't the same before.. Draft night this board was happy about the Horn pick and only ppl who wanted Fields made their opinion known..

Ppl were just as mad about giving up 3rd and anything last season as they did with the blocking situation..

And reality check almost nobody questioned Horn being a shut down Cb.. You had most analysts calling him Jaylen Ramsey 2.0...

Last he could have lied and said thrown his scouting department and Fitt under the bus.. But he didn't.. He didn't trash Slater all he did was told the truth about what they were thinking 9 months ago.. They didn't have the necromancer ability to see that Slater would be a pro bowler.. How can you blame them for going with the higher rated player at a position if need?? That's what you want your team to do when drafting.. Instead of drafting a lower rated player based on perceived higher need..

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
