Yep. Blaming Rhule completely on Hurney was always just passing the buck. You don't give a guy $70M and full control unless you're sold head over heels.

Still find it amusing that going into "recruiting mode" on Rhule ended up costing Hurney his job.

And and then you have Mr Analytics who admitted that hiring Rhule came down to "a feeling".

if the whole scenario wasn't so pathetic it would be funnier. hand the reigns over to a clueless manipulative narcissist only to have him kick you out the door.

Point being people throw things around this place and parrot it as gospel and when presented with stuff that goes against them you revert back to “well you know”

Rhule is the main issue with this team we all agree on that.

Walter football is a crock of poo and always has been but people will use it for their confirmation bias.

Not a big fan of Walter Football.

But with that said, statements like "teams around the league see the Panthers as dysfunctional and Matt Rhule on a power trip" aren't exactly hard to believe.

yep. not a stretch at all.

in fact i fully expect most teams in the league to drop pickett deservedly way down their boards into 3rd or 4th rounds only to have rhule "see something special in the kid" like he did with sammy and draft him at 6.

If only to find another excuse to convince Tepper to give him another couple years. It's blatant at this point, Rhule doesn't have a process besides grifting until the well runs dry and then moving on to the next sucker. I don't like having an incompetent HC in over his head trying to save his job by any means necessary with an owner giving him extra leash to hope it somehow works out, too much gambling and no structure

    • Rico is 0%. I think we would really like to have Mays back but we have a value in mind and aren't willing to overspend. I think someone probably will so I think the odds are pretty low but not zero.
    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
