Tepper and Fit still letting Rhule have a say in signing people. Another Temple player

This is actually a good signing. Replenish depth on the DL. I’d venture to say this offseason’s FA signings are indicative of a more collaborative effort than year’s past.

How is this any different than signing Reddick, Jones, and Fox last offseason?

Yeah, they were solid signings at the time.  But what did it do for us?  A 5-win season and they all ended up leaving this offseason.

Yes he's a good player but this is such a pointless signing.  Feels like every offseason we sign some "solid" DL to a short contract and it does nothing for us.  Fire Matt Rhule.

It's in Rhule's contract.

It is, but it's occurred to me that there are ways to get around that.

David Tepper would still have veto power over any move. So if he says "we do what Scott and Dan say" then Rhule has to accept it.

That's not to say he's completely neutered, but maybe...restrained, or moderated.

    • I’ve said it in the past that this team has found brief runs of success this season off of a player or few that decides to turn God mode on for the day. Yesterday Chuba looked like the stud many forgot he was last season. Mike Jack ball hawked a pick 6 to the house? WTF? Derrick m-fin Brown.  Does anyone remember the last time a Panthers lineman closed out a big game? That play was classic Jenkins.  Coker is a stud (we are VERY fortunate to have him). Tet is a stud. Brown is a stud. Rico is a stud. Ickey is a stud. The O line continues to play much better than they rightfully should be. The depth players by and large have been refreshingly competent.  If they would have just played Panthers brand football all season they would probably have 9 wins but it is what it is. I think Bryce is far more comfortable in the game manager role, which for now is ‘ok’… for now. A team that can run the ball at will and has an opportunistic defense is a tough out for anybody, home or away.
    • True. But that elevation gain is no joke on the lungs.
    • Take away Bryce's two 4th and short passes and the screen to Chuba and what are you left with on fhe passing game? See how it goes when you selectively eliminate the three best plays? We caught lightning in a bottle yesterday on both sides of the ball. The D was overall not good but had three great plays forcing turnovers taking one back for a TD. The offensive passing game overall was not good but had three big plays resulting in TDs.
