Was a fun game. But disappointing. Don’t know why they were rushing down the court those final seconds. They didn’t need to do all those desperation shots they had enough time for a quick reset.

Bill Self made a really good adjustment at half that changed the game.  He had every defender get right up on the Carolina players and crowd their space.  That bothered Carolina’s flow big time.  Our reaction was to take bad shots and then Kansas got out on the break and that turned the whole game.

With Love hobbled that was pretty much that

the ride was so much fun. ask any tarheel fan what was more enjoyable, this year or last.

Literally the only stress involved was having to face duke in the Final Four. Other than that it was straight house money. I've never been able to enjoy a run like that with zero expectations. Every other UNC Final Four run has been fully expected and anything less than a championship was going to be a massive letdown. Basically, like our 2015 SB run. That poo is stressful. This tourney run was just flat out fun and it's precisely because it was so completely unexpected.

exactly, and taking a step back since I started following (doh's first year) we are 8-3 at the final four since roy took over with a 5-1 record in the semis and 3-2 record in the finals. Not bad at all. only thing that hurts is being 6 points from 10-1 and 5-0 in the ship. You cant have it all.

Now I'm hoping for a repeat of '17 next year. Team came up just short in the championship game the prior season and used that to fuel a championship run determined to cut down the final nets this time.

I believe taking a 2 game sample of a rivalry is a bad take.  Carolina beat Duke and Coach K in the last two games, which happened to be K's last games against Carolina so congratulations.

What doesn't change is the fact that K has 5 National Championships of his own, I believe Carolina has 3 coaches who won National Championships.  I also believe that the all time record for K vs. Carolina is 50-50.

Carolina had a great year and vastly improved over the course of it.  I think Hubert is going to be a good coach.  At the end of each season there is only one champion so congrats for the runner up finish and the wins that meant so much, but never forget:

Imagine being tone-deaf enough to attempt to talk poo as a duke fan right now. 😂

yeah really just depends on what love/bacot do, if they both leave we might be very young next season outside of RJ and hopefully leaky.

Yeah I've seen exactly two Duke fans trying to talk trash. The rest of them know we owned them this year and may be the reason that egotistical coach of theirs comes back another year

Bruh. UNC ended the Rivalry argument in just two games. UNC beat Duke in the Final Four. In the only NCAA Tournament game between the two ever. UNC beat Dukes saving grace at home in his last game at Cameron. Woof. Two talking points Duke fans won't have much to counter with. Unless that Duke fan is a dumb ass. Which there are many of.

Yeah, it's the ultimate trump card. No matter what Duke fans say, the response is "but we beat you in the only final four game"

    • So happy that LaMelo got the layup to go and *won* the game. How happy he was after the game, that's what a young dude like him needs to keep it going and keep the belief going. If we lose, LaMelo gets blamed, and he's got an offseason to be in his head and hear the noise like the last few years. The season might still have an ugly ending, but weirdly feels like last night was HUGE for this team moving forward.
    • My thoughts on Carolina's post-season run: Obviously, the season began with a below average Freddie Andersen and everyone hoping Kochetkov would pick up the slack, until he got hurt. Enter Brandon Bussi who had a made-for-TV movie type run until the end of the season, when he came crashing back to earth, his save % drops under .900 and the team needs to score 5-6 goals to win games. Freddie has shown signs of a resurgence and Bussi looked pretty good the last 2 games of the season, but both sample sizes are small and questions abound for all 3 goalies. The physicality of playoff hockey will take its toll. Save for a few players, the Canes best players are small, their top 2 lines are small and there's no getting around that. The only way to protect the size disadvantage is a strong forecheck. Allowing opposing teams to establish the offensive zone and create board battles with smaller players will hurt Carolina. The Stankoven line could be a difference-maker. If they continue to play well against lower defensive pairs, it only adds to the depth of the team.  The Aho line had stretches of absenteeism during the season. The Canes cannot afford to have them dry up offensively and leave the scoring to Ehlers and the Stankoven line. If they aren't performing well, teams will simply roll their best lines out on the Canes best playing lines.  If the Canes can get by Ottawa and get some help from Boston against Buffalo, I think they have a legit shot to make the finals. Make no mistake, I think their toughest challenges are Ottawa and Buffalo in the East.
