Yep.

If the vets suck, do you really have anything to lose by playing the rookies? Especially if you're out of contention. It was just baffling to watch.

Theres is some reason to protect young players egos. I know many are just like me and they are their own worst enemy. I remember Byron Bell being super hyped about getting in and making one play- his reaction was 'HELL YEA, I CAN PLAY IN THIS LEAGUE!!!" He was over joyed with a 15 yard gain so told Jordan Gross. Right after gross said, " Thats great and all, but we have to do that again right now " Still Rhule and all his people should have prepared the young ones better and they should have gotten more snaps. Its possible to end a players career.

You can not convince me Miller and daley practiced better than Brown and Christ, no chance Im buying that. Maaaaayyyybe fewer mistakes/misalignments/etc.

Campen knows more about o-line talent than the entire rest of the staff combined.

No doubt there - but 1 person vs many doesn't always equal the right decisions.  Ask the Cowboys or Raiders.  All comes down to whether or not they listen...how good of a saleman Campen is...

Trade back, grab Pennington and Corral.  BC and Pennington battle it out in training camp.  Win, win.

This would be an A+ draft for us but would require a good deal of luck.  We probably couldn't trade down past Chargers at 17 and still get Pennington. A decent qb should be left for us in round 2 though.

See, I don't get this? Why should we SETTLE for a DECENT QB? IMO, if we can't get a really good one, why not just pass? (Pun unintended)

If you don't get the QB you want early. Let it go. There are plenty of other fish in the ponds. Although with the QB pond. It is so shallow, you can practically reach in and grab you a QB. They are all pretty much the same.

That is a fair argument, but we are not likely to have the number 1 pick or be able to trade for someone like Wilson. QB's are a crap shoot and Darnold is not the answer. I would be willing to take a flyer on a Matt Corral or Sam Howell in the second round.

IMO, with an improved Oline (With the draft still to come, and Camden as the coach, why not?), and MacAdoo calling plays. Maybe, just maybe, Sam can be servicable?

I personally, would not draft a QB this year.

we're too used to settling for better than what we had (hoping that it actually is, but finding out eventually it really isn't). we let the bar of expectation get too low and because of that we're going to keep losing.

I hate to say this, but anyone watching the OL like I do (used to coach OL so I got trained to do so) would realize that the middle of the OL was the biggest problem.  Not to say that OT was on point, but BC was decent there when I watched.  Does that mean he is the next Joe Thomas?  No, but all NFL offensive lines have a weak link--it is when you have 2 that it becomes problematic.  The salary cap will prevent you from having an OL with 5 top notched players--so you need to be good at 2, decent at 2, and maybe developing at 1. I think BC has the athleticism to be decent.

How about this? Last year our Offense was our Achilles Heel. We've done quite a bit to upgrade said Offense.

1. We have upgraded our Oline. And still have the draft.

2. We have upgraded our Oline Coach.

3.We have upgraded our Signal Caller.

4. We have added Freeman. A RB that upgrades our short yardage situation.

5. We have added experienced Coaches, with winning reumes to the staff.

6. Oh, and we still have the draft.

Lots to get excited about.

I say, let Brady have LT. See if Colbert can play LG, if he can, put Brown at RG. Leave Moton at RT, and Bozeman at C, and let's go to war.

Get the best DE in the 1st. Then let's get to rejoicing.

I hope Roy and and another DT step up; often year 3 is a charm.  I think we are better at LB than last year, and I think our secondary (with Horn and X) will be upgraded.  I am not ready to call Henderson (CB) a bust, but Hartsfield at Nickel with Horn and Jackson is not bad.  We need a pass rusher, but do not forget, YGM is entering year 3---CJ and Hardy were head scratches until year three.  Give Haynes some reps....we really could be good.  I think too often people pull the bread out of the oven too soon and think the bread sucks.  Maturation (Henderson, YGM, Roy) is going to be important.

Agreed. We were getting blown up in the middle.

And, furthermore, if they are practicing at a much higher or just higher level.....why the fug did you draft them?

    • While I hated keeping Rhule, I thought if he still kept sucking, it would be an easy path to number 1. Firing him 5 games into the season then winning meaningless games just made it worse. We weren't making a deep run even if we made the wildcard with a losing record. That whole season was pointless, but at least I was optimistic an owner with 1/4 of a brain couldn't muck it up. Ahhh Dave....
    • I'm sure someone will bring up Peyton Manning soon enough, like a 6'5" gunslinger has anything to do with a 5'10" game manager
