This team's inability to just draft a LT even over higher rated defensive prospects has been one of if not the top reason why we haven't had sustained success. It just doesn't matter about a DE or another CB or S or whatever, this team requires a LT and there will be one worth drafting there. Anything else is inexcusable at this point. If they pick defense at that slot with one of the top 3 LTs on the board I'd fire them all immediately.

I respect your opinion but we are in too bad of a need a LT not to take one in the 6th.

I don't disagree but if there is a run in LT's and one of those elite DE prospects drops then pass rushers are equally as valuable as LT's. Although LT's are much harder to come by.

Just got a text telling me not to be too shocked should the Panthers go defense at 6. Apparently there is more than one scenerio where this could happen.

The elite picks are OT and edge rusher.   If one of the top OT dont fall then we could still use another edge rusher.

That's the thing, we just lost our best pass rusher. After Burns it's just a bunch of depth guys.

It isn't like we don't need a DE. And I have been beating the drum for years for that LT but if they are gone, get another elite, high value player.

So I fully understand why taking an elite DE or w/e would not be a bad pick and will likely be a better overall pick than any of these bum ass QBs we could take.

That said?  I'll still probably throw some poo and cuss a lot if we do it. Then again the more I think about it the less I think I'll be happy with whoever we pick at 6 so meh.  I'll just get the Huddle Riot Kit ready to go.

Who cares if we pass on 1 blue chip player when we can get 2 (backup) players instead.

Yeah. It's ridiculous.

Just don't fug up #6 and then move on to next season. This is not hard.

Lets say you have 8 players rated in the 60-63 group. Couple teams phone you up and one offers couple later picks plus their 100th pick to move up to 88? Isnt the smart move to take the offer? Once 100 comes you still have 3 players(since no boards are the same) left to pick form the 60-63 group, plus you got 197 and 215. Seems simple to me....

I just not a fan of trading picks unless someone is willing to overpay. Especially with first round picks.

Jets call the panthers and offer the 10th, 69, and 111 for the 10th pick? Is that enough? I mean personally theres no difference between 6 and 10 in this 2022 rating wise. Ravens, viking, and others can offer there 1st (10-18) picks plus 2nd rounders and late rounders for the 6th.....Why wouldnt you do that if a group of seven players are rated the same?

I could take a different approach next year. Honestly the meat part of the draft is 4th-UDFA...

  • EDGE Aidan Hutchinson, Michigan. ...
  •  T Charles Cross, Mississippi State. ...
  •  T Ikem Ekwonu, N.C. State. ...
  • T Evan Neal, Alabama. ...
  • EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux, Oregon. ...

If all these guys are gone (unlikely) when we pick, I would be more willing to trade back, but I would still want a lot to do it.

The meat of the draft is day 3? How is that possible? You mean there’s no difference in rankings from 33 to 200+?

Also, it seems to me that there’s a chasm from top 6 (If Walker or Willis are graded there) and 10. You seem to have 2-3 tackles, 2-3 DEs and Gardner. After that are QBs that many pundits think aren’t worth before the end of the 1st and guys like Hamilton, Stingley and Penning with lots of questions. Even Cross isn’t universally loved. Pick 69 would have to be an instant starter to make it worth taking a much bigger risk at 10.

No no.....the best highest value is 4th-UDFA. This is maybe the only drat in recent history where Id trade a bunch of 4s, 5s, 6s for a earlier pick. The UDFA group should be the best form the last 10 years. 2nd rounders are still far above the 4th-UDFA group. Just more draft-able players in this years mainly due to coofus effect.

    • Sometimes you get very valuable information from fantasy football sites. I found an analysis that you may want to read from The Fantasy Footballers. Perhaps you'll gain an insight as to why we moved up and got him. As always, here are a few snippets: "As expected, he dominated in the 2023 season. He averaged an impressive 2.03 Scrimmage Yards per Team Play, which ranks in the 86th percentile among all junior seasons since 2013." "Naturally, after initially playing behind two NFL-caliber running backs, Brooks’ career numbers do not jump off the page. However, his 2023 campaign gave us a glimpse of just how massive his upside could be at the next level. In fact, Brooks is one of only TWO running backs in this class to exceed 2.00 Scrimmage Yards per Team Play within their first three seasons in college."  "If you watch Jonathon Brooks’ film, you will find multiple plays in which he created yardage with his quick feet and lateral agility. He is elusive in open spaces and has an impressive ability to stack multiple cuts to avoid contact. Combined with his impressive burst and acceleration, Brooks can be a matchup nightmare in the second and third levels of the defense." "While Brooks is not the most physical running back, he does have a knack for absorbing contact and bouncing off defenders. You see this time and time again in his film." "He showcased a willingness to initiate contact with the pass rusher, the strength to maintain blocks, and the quickness to adjust to the defender’s moves. In addition, per PFF, Brooks was a top-three running back in the 2024 class in pass-blocking grade last season. He was also one of only two running backs in the class to average a 0% pass block pressure rate, highlighting just how effective he was as a blocker." "In short, Brooks has tremendous upside as a prospect. Even with his ACL injury, I would still be comfortable drafting him in the early second round of rookie drafts. In fact, I would not be shocked if he finished his career as the most productive running back in this class. However, we just need to temper our expectations for his rookie year as he slowly ramps up to full health." Marvin Elequin provides more here (including video clips): https://www.thefantasyfootballers.com/dynasty/2024-rookie-profile-rb-jonathon-brooks-fantasy-football/   Basically, Brooks has the potential to be a beast, and was well worth the 46th pick (and most mocks had him going mid second round anyway). He's not JAG. Someone had to make the move and take him, and we were the ones to do it. He's elusive, has good speed and acceleration, exceptional contact balance, and is an outstanding blocker. Just like any nice RB transitioning to the league, he will need to get used to taking what the defense gives him, while also showing discriminating patience, but he has demonstrated some ability on that front in college. Brooks' only real knock is the ACL. But ACLs aren't career ending anymore, or even skill ending as evidenced by Dalvin Cook, Todd Gurley and others. We'll just need to temper our expectations during his rookie campaign while he gets back to form. Once he does, we'll finally have the talented three-down back that has eluded us since Stew retired.

Took the Rams trade but stayed put at 52 and at the top of the 3rd.
