Bro is there really Clifford stans on this board lmao. Cliff is going to limit Melo offensively and play privy to the vets. Mason Plumlee about to average 38 mpg and so will Hayward when not on the bench with a bandaid. I guarantee we take a step back next year.

Oh man I’d love to take a bet that Plumlee averages 38mpg. I’m all in. Avi bet?

I wouldn't have hired Clifford but he's coach again so we gotta get over that and support our team. The Hornet's may surprise you guys. I'm going to go ahead and get on the bandwagon.

This is a better coach than Borrego. Mitch has set the next coach up for success with an all of a sudden tall all of a sudden athletic frontcourt.

You have to let the 24 hour reaction period fully play out so everyone can get it out of their system. Think of it as Billy Bob's character from Bad Santa. By Monday hopefully it will have subsided and everyone accepts.

There is no 24 hour period. This team is being run into the ground by cheap decision making. Not getting out of many of our systems. The fan base was already weak and these last few days certainly didn't help.

Atkinson. D'Antoni. Clifford. Results wise it's all the same bag really. Especially with a guy like Hayward pulling us down. This article sums it up pretty well regardless of how you might feel about the coaching hire.

You got to give them some slack. They thought they had their perfect coach in Atkinson and then they didn't. They obviously didn't want Mark Jackson and Jordan and Mitch oddly want to retain most if not all of the coaches. In their eyes they were jilted and embarrassed in public by this guy and the negative media afterwards.

They turned to somebody they could trust, somebody that already wanted the job and wouldn't say no and has always been a coach that was good at making something out of nothing.

I'm not mad here. The trust factor is already there. They really really know each other, Mitch has done waaaaay better than Cho. I would have gave Mark Jackson an interview but I understand why Jordan hired someone who would be more loyal.

Unfinished business apparently. It is what it is now. Cliff doesn't shoot. I've already moved past it. You should too. If they sign Miles, Mitch has done well this off-season and this squad is automatically better defensively with 7'2" Williams and Kai coming into the lineup after killing the G League.

Experience at coach is what we were missing, a young defensive big was what we were missing. Beelieve!

It's been a common part of past discussions about the failures of the franchise but this is obviously Jordan being cheap and honestly nobody should ever argue otherwise anymore. The guy is a cheapskate.

The last thing you want to do is develop a player out of college into star just to clutch the purse when they ball out.

At the same time Miles needs to look at a guy like Kemba, he probably wishes the negotiation to stay in Charlotte some way, some how would have been achieved.

Miles said publicly that he wants to stay a Hornet. It's more up to him than anyone. Of course the team wants a team friendly deal so they can keep more talent. So tell your agent to make a deal that doesn't embarrass the player and keep it teal.

Sometimes you actually have to give the discount your agent doesn't want you to to stay where you want to play.  NBA players make a lot of money anyways, he'll be rich regardless. Chase happiness not the damn dirty $$$.

    • Canales up first. Guys got their legs back yesterday and started a little slow when they came out Bryce challenged them in the huddle and they responded "Dominant practice for the defense today." Praised turnovers, "beautiful hits," and being physical Praised Moehrig, Ransom, Incoom, and Jones II Confirmed playing starters. Predominantly a young team and can't pass up an opportunity. Emphasized game day routines such as nutrition, body readiness, etc. Plus it's a bunch of new guys on the defense. Bryce will start. Will play them the first two, but starters might sit for the third game depending on how practice goes that week. Nic Scourton has a mild hamstring that happened in special teams. DJ Johnson had an issue with his hip flare up and is getting checked out this afternoon. Experimenting with approach to preseason games. In Seattle they played their starters in all but the last preseason game and what Pete Carroll was looking for in terms of mental readiness to play football. Thomas Incoom has been getting a lot of work with AC Carter adding to his toolbelt. Getting better as a rusher and being physical in the run game. Looking for a consistency in response. 1pt for a win, 3pts for a TD. Defense doesn't like that, but in games if they give up one go ball the score can swing. They challenged the pass game and the run game today. Guys are getting together before, between, and after team drills to challenge each other Job of the coaching staff to set the foundation for our schemes, philosophy, and expectations of what it's like to play Panthers football. Powerful when players take that and the locker room owns it. That's when it becomes our team, their team. At the end of the day, the men on the field have to rebound from a bad play, celebrate the good plays, and keep each other in tune for a whole game. Robert Hunt is amazing. Size, talent, quickness, flexibility. Really intelligent guy that there will say himself there are technique things he needs to work on. Regardless of where players are at, there's a constant learning curve and loves that Big Rob is challenging himself with the position coach. Thinks the digital down and distance can be really valuable. Getting the information quickly will help with the flow of the game. Thought TMac looked great but there were some near misses that he'll have to get in the room and communicate with Bryce on while reviewing film. James Mitchell keeps doing right and his trust factor is increasing with the QBs. If you're right and the coverage says the ball goes there, it'll come. Had some issues at the start of camp but is trending up. Newton or Person: "It looked like today was beyond thud but short of live. What do you call that?" Canales: "No, that's thud. In my mind, that's what thud should look like. The challenge for our defensive guys is can you put your body in a position where we know that would've been a tackle." Whizzing by, tagging with two hands, etc doesn't show you whether you would've made a tackle. That's not real football. Let's the play extend because guys have to be ready to chase sometime where the ball squirts out from a pit. Can't train to say "Ah, it was a tackle" and relax but instead play with intensity through the whistle. Lathan Ransom is bringing the physical style of play that they saw on film. Has been really into the details and someone that they can count on. Has really given himself a chance to start at the other safety position. Excited for the extra energy from a game-like environment that they'll get from FanFest. Used to have four preseason games and now FanFest feels like that first one. Will give ST full speed reps to evaluate. Making plays and feeding off of the fans. Window closed quickly on the INT to finish practice. CSW baited Bryce with some movement and made a great play. Saw it from Bryce's perspective with TMac coming open. Has played all over the secondary that they can count on to speak loudly and be on the same page with his teammates.
