2023 qb class - Some good news

Looks like there are 4 maybe 5 first round qb's in the 2023 draft.  Seems to line up with the 2021 talent wise at least.  So if this season goes like most think then the new staff will at least have options.

Eh....I like the class but the 2022 class was hyped before the 2021 season, as well.

Maybe it's a monster and maybe it's a dud. The best guys are the underclassmen and not all of them may declare, either.

Grayson McCall set the record for Passer Efficiency in 2021 and was Sun Belt Freshman and Player of the year in 2020. I've watched him a lot and I think he has the potential to be a great NFL QB. Apparently Tom Brady's brand thinks so as well as they've already hitched the TB12 wagon to him.

Just like this year and the year before the hype will slowly fizzle and we will return to the same hand wringing over the flaws of the top quarterbacks.

TBD. It could be a great class, also.

The scrutiny over flaws is always there. It just gets amplified during the evaluation process because all the bobbleheads finally talk to real professional evaluators and can start parroting what they hear.

You were deadset against drafting a QB and declared Malik Willis the next Ryan Leaf. Yet you're a dedicated fiend for the Coastal Carolina product. This is why we can't have honest talks about the QB position in the draft anymore.

    • Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .
    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
