Would love to see TMJ emerge in camp making Robbie expendable. We could use some more draft capital. Surely someone would send us a mid-late rounder for him.

If we don't see TMJ carve out a role this year, I am gonna start the "Ghost of Hurney" rumor.

I guarantee he’ll look great in camp.

What he looks like game time is still to be determined.

If anybody truly thinks Sam is starting over Baker week 1 against Cleveland, they need to re-evaluate many things. They got Baker for the express reason that Sam sucks balls. If they trusted Sam to be the starter, there would be no need to trade for Baker.

Just jettison Robby.

I can understand people disliking Robby, but we honestly don’t have the depth at receiver right now to just get rid of him.

TMJ being having solid WR3 numbers this year would be considered a breakout year based off last year (in my opinion)

It doesn't take much to replace butterfingers Robby. He's a WR2 here, he's camp fodder elsewhere.

I like Baker. I hope it work out. He’s the first QB we brought in since Cam that I feel is capable of being the long term starter. I knew Teddy and Sam weren’t it. Teddy is an Alex Smith type. He not leading you to the promised land. Sam just isn’t it and I said that back then. Baker can be it.

He leads this team to the playoffs and has a good season; I’ll be willing to lock him in for a little while. If he doesn’t, then we use the picks we have to move up in the draft for a QB. I don’t know about Corral.

I thought he looked fine in the games he was actually given the opportunity to play and wasn't getting stretchered out from a Darnold hospital ball.  I think he got lost when Rhule started scrambling for his job security.  He looks the part, he just needs the reps.

Robby is much more than camp fodder. He’s shown that. If you don’t like him for his extra curricular then say that, but he’s shown he’s capable

Darnold cost a lotttt more for the panthers to bring in than baker. I could see a situation where if they are both even and no clear front runner, Rhule picks darnold to try and save face and say that their original assessment was correct.

I think this team still has more invested in Sam being a success over baker

i also think that baker will win the job, hands down, and there will not have to been anything contemplating after a few days of training camp

And stop with the shots at Robby. He’s shown he can play in this league. He’s not a #1, but he’s a solid #2 that can be your 1 for a small length of time. I hope Baker can bring him back to his play a couple years ago

Thanks you, AL...  been saying the same thing since last season.  I just don't get all of the hate for Robbie.  Sure, he says certain things, but I feel he operates with a very specific code in mind, and he stands behind it for a reason.  But, he's also shown that he is accountable and flexible.  We've seen him rip into Sam, and then in a thoughtful, reflective moment, has defended him and spoke about their friendship.  Many are saying he made the comments about Baker in defense of Sam because of their relationship, and that makes sense...  but, just as he did with Sam, he has shown he can navigate relationships as needed, and pride isn't an issue.

And as I said non-stop last season, yes the drops were frustrating, buy the whole offense was.  Those guys were fighting a lot of stuff every play that had nothing to do with them...  and I also shared the article where David Newton (I know lol) took all the advanced stats and broke down exactly what was behind Robbie's struggles.  If anyone read it, it would be clear to anyone what he was dealing with and the drops had very little to do with the drop-off in production after he signed his extension.  I honestly think every fanbase needs someone to pinpoint all their frustrations on, and for some reason, a great deal of our garbage has chosen Robbie to be that guy.  I hope he bounces back big time this year and TMJ takes a huge jump too...  and we already know DJ is gonna ball out.

    • I see they blamed Slavin for the goal like I did.
    • See this is the problem, you say "can't get off the line quick" and "can't separate quick" but in reality it's "he can get off the line better and create more separation" which are two completely different things. If he couldn't get off the line or separate, he wouldn't have put up the numbers he did and end up a Top 10 pick. But he can get better, and maybe more accurately, consistent with them both, and that will take his game to the next level.  These are things that are also much easier to improve once you get to the NFL than things like being a poor route runner or having bad hands, two of his strengths. Thinking he can't get open in the short passing game also shows you haven't watched enough tape on him, as he was used in that role so much in college with little issue getting open and making plays. And him not using his physicality as much isn't even something that hurts his game because he's so much more agile than a player of his size should be, which he used to his advantage.  Instead of throwing passes where he'd go up and box out a player like a TE or Mike Evans does, they use his athleticism and put the ball in places that only he can get to it, and he usually does (and yes, he'll still be able to do that against NFL DB's with his catch radius). But now that he's in the NFL, I'd like to see him get stronger and add that to his game because it also will help him take his game to another level. As I've said before, if he doesn't improve on those things at all, I think he's a Top 25 WR in this league, he's already that good.  But I think he'll improve on those things and be a perennial Top 10 WR and in his prime is considered and perform like Top 5 guy in some years. My expectations for him this year at 800 yards and 8 TDs (although I do think he'll get to 10 TDs) with a real chance at getting to 1,000.  But those expectations are because I think Thielen will lead the team in yards with close to 1k and XL/Coker each end up in the 500-600 range themselves, just too many mouths to feed this year for a rookie to dominate yardage, especially if we're running the ball well again. But if Thielen can't stay healthy or puts up sub 750 yards, then yea, my expectations for T-Mac likely shift to getting to 1k as a rookie.
    • Svech only 1 goal behind the guy they've pretty much already given the Conn Smythe to...
