Went to the Hall of Fame game in 95 between the Panthers and Jaguars with three of my friends.

We were the typical young male numbskulls who didn't plan anything, just hopped in a car and went.

By the end of the day, we were all thirsty, starving and had severe sunburns 😆

That is so cool, man. I have never been so excited for a preseason game. Even watching on TV, it was awesome!

One year ago, during the preseason, was when we all witnessed Rhule "coddling" Darnold and giving him hardly any reps.  We were all left wondering what we would get out of him once the season started.  You think Rhule will coddle Baker the same way as he's clearly emerging as the opening day starter?

...I went to that game also..... I grew up in Canton and had been living in CLT since 87 and wanted to get the taste of the Browns outta my mouff... Jumped on the Panther bandwagon then... Did you miss the Friday night festivities of bands, booze and booty?

It's funny how every nfl season starts and ends with worthless games.  (Hof game and pro bowl)

Jags and Raiders are probably the least interesting teams they could have picked. Not even really any interesting rookies to check out, maybe some random UDFA's will do something

Did you go to McKinley?  I went to Massillon.  I moved down here in 2004.  Went to training camp several years ago at Wofford and been hooked ever since.

When Tyrone Poole made his leaping interception, I jumped too 😄

Was also right there about ten or so feet away when Steve Isreal knocked down that final pass.

Nope. Just drove up the morning of the game and drove back after.

Did get to see the speeches.

Yup.... so im not accustomed to losing...but Massillon/Canton rivalry was awesome.... Think the browns should change their name to the Bulldogs...

Wonder if Carr/Adams will take the opening drive? There is that.

I still think Trevor has similar appeal to a rookie QB. Given the mess Urban created last year made it all meaningless.  Plus, their other first round pick last year didn’t play last season because of injury.  I’m curious to see how Etienne’s speed looks on the NFL field.    So he basically is a rookie.

I agree!! They should give more respect to the Hall of Famers and make the first game of the season the actual Hall of Fame game.. instead of having to watch Scrubs!!

Tevor's not playing, Not sure about Carr. Adams is supposed to. Jarett Stidham vs CJ Beathard, actually both decent backups. I suppose both teams have new coaches but I doubt they show much as far as playbooks go

    • So the last guy who had the job got hired by his former team directly into a role he has no direct experience in?
    • Hard to pass up millions for a couple of days work per week for a coaching gig in the NFL that is 60-80 hours each week during the season and a more relaxed 50 hours a week during the off season. Yeah, I'd love to see him as our DC but hard to see him giving up the cushy job there if he gets it. And he's going to be a great commentator for the network.
    • Really, I think that is where negotiations come in. If you've got a QB getting you to 10 wins but statistically he's not a great performer, then you say look you can take $22 million or you can try it on the market. Because let's face it, out there, any leadership skills that we're seeing aren't going to be on the table, it's just going to be performance and that lands him in the QB2 market, which is much, much less lucrative (although any of us would love that money).  No one is saying that Bryce will be a $50 million QB, barring something short of a miraculous jump. I'm just saying that if we are winning somehow with him at the helm, then it would be fuging stupid to dive back into the rookie pool all over again. Let's say we do hit the 10 win mark, heck, let's call it 11 and a second round in the playoffs. I think we can all say that would be a really uplifting result and one that should be doable if we have good play. What do we do then? Here's what I would offer if I were Morgan and Tepper. $25 million a year for 3 years, each year with up to $10 million in incentives for touchdowns, wins, playoff depth, being under 10 interceptions, completing a full season, passing yardage milestones, taking less than 15 sacks. Look, Bryce isn't a Ferrari, he isn't a Corvette, or a mid-level BMW. He's probably a new Toyota Sienna that will definitely get you somewhere and bring the whole team along with it, no fuss but not a lot of pizazz.  And really, it's about the destination, not about what drove you there.
