I expect a DE, DT, and if available a TE to be brought in after cuts. I think they’re comfortable at LB and don’t seem to value the position much.

Once other teams DT toss elflein into the QB like a sack of poo Bozeman will be inserted.

As for chinn, I prefer him in the box but maybe he’s improved his coverage in the offseason. I was not impressed with it last year for sure.

What has Marshall done to be the 4th WR? I haven't seen much said about him so far. Smith has been praised a bit though.

pretty sure he had 4 TDs in a matter of 2-3 practices before the injury. The Athletic put up a piece that he looked poise for a breakout year. Then the damn calf strain happened. Jynxed him.

Based on what?

big plays?

More TDs, FF, FR as a rookie on one less game.

I like Chinn anywhere.  But my preference based on 2 years is with him more in the box.  Just seemed to be one of those guys that got the ball.  And I think teams will run at as a fair amount and would rather have him more mixed up in it.

2 freak plays that might never happen again in his career regardless of his position.

This is the  difference between fans and coaches.  Fans judge players based off of a few splash plays(good and bad), coaches watch every snap.

Go watch game film and focus on him for every play.   Your opinion of where he should be playing might change.

If you go watch the film you’ll see him getting dusted in coverage last year. Hopefully that improves

This is the O-line that finished the day w the 1's-

From just outside the 20, Mayfield dropped back again. An offensive line of (from left to right) Ikem Ekwonu, Brady Christensen, Bradley Bozeman, Austin Corbett and Taylor Moton earned Mayfield enough time for him to wait on receiver DJ Moore, who was running a shallow route from left to right. Mayfield delivered an on-time ball and Moore took off 15 yards untouched to the end zone.

Well, I am a fan.  My eyeballs tell me Baker is better than Sam and it really isn’t close.   Our coaches see it different.   I concede I don’t look at players like them.

and I still like Chinn better in the box more given how our run D looks right now on paper.  Folks are going to be running at us and he is a good player even if still raw.  He was a rookie that made a run at DPOY.  We need more playmakers/talent in there mixing it up IMO.   I wouldn’t call it just 2 freak plays either as a rookie.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
