Speaking as someone who hasn't necessarily followed Ebron's career that closely, did he ever actually live up to his hype?

What I've read about him gives

Simply put: no he has not. Between his slippery hands and injuries, he's been an effective first round bust. But that doesn't necessarily mean that he can't help our offense. Some think that he's washed, but he's only a 29-year-old TE who might come in as the best we have.

Fair enough...

What I've read about him gives me the impression he hasn't.

He was on a bad team in Detroit for 4-5 years. Bounced around a big after. But no, he has not lived up to the hype of being #10 overall selection. I think he’d be a great addition here as a role player.

I don’t understand the “bust” criticism of Ebron. Sounds like duke bball and NCST fans that don’t know what they are talking about. Was he supposed to be Antonio Gates or Travis Kelce?

he has 33 touchdowns almost 4K career yards and has deal with shaky QB play and some injuries but he is not a bust. He has been in the NFL for almost a decade lol

If he wasn't a bust, he'd still be with Detroit. He has never played anywhere near a first round level, much less the number 10 pick. That's a bust. Now that's not to say that he can't be a halfway productive TE or at least a red zone threat.

    • I'm looking at the schedule and I see a 10+win season easy.  I think Carolina goes undefeated in the division.  I also believe that the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Steelers are very winnable.  Revenge game with phillips and the eagles could be a win.  Honestly only 2 games I see as chalking up a L to off the bat is the Seahawks and Broncos.
    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
