There is no help for him.  He is who he is.

Tepper wanted Watson to be the face of the franchise.  Tells me all I need to know. Don't have much hope for him either.

If that’s how you feel, then that’s how YOU feel. Always a chance for someone to turn it around and get it right.

Why the hell did they even go thru the whole charade of hiring that judge or whatever to hand out a discipline, if they were not going to follow what she suggested?  Talk about a gigantic waste of everyones time and money.

Precisely so the NFL could say "See we're not lame and soft and hypocritical, we came down harder on Watson than a female judge. Clearly we're hardcore about disciplining out of line players. RAWR!"

Yep.

I imagine his contract had plenty of built in clauses to keep the Browns from paying him.

Believe it or not, they specifically wrote the contract in a way that allows them to keep paying him.

Watson basically admits he didn't mean his apology...

I've worked some sh-tty jobs in my time, but I can't imagine what it's like to work in public relations for the Browns right now 😳

If I’m the PR person for the Browns I’m resigning. Talk about an absolute disaster.

I swear to god, if the first TD pass celebration from Mayfield isn't him running up to the receiver and massaging his shoulders, I will be severely disappointed.

If only Smitty would come back for one game.... who can forget him doing the love boat.

There is a very good chance that  most people can turn things around if they want to.  There are some people who have issues/flaws that are so deeply seeded in their character...they will not get better.  Psychiatry calls these personality disorders and Watson seems to fall somewhere on the narcissism antisocial spectrum.  Now, they can learn to manipulate things in their favor...say the right things, modify behavior for a while to stay out of trouble.  But, they do not truly change. Which is a sad thing.

No.  Sexual Predators and Rapists don't get second chances.

Ummm, ok. If that’s how you feel. Not trying to change your mind or anyone else’s.

I appreciate the lesson. It wasn’t really needed, but thanks.

I hope he gets the help he needs, and changes for the better.

    • This fan base and being cool with mediocrity is infuriating. Making excuses for billionaires who had no business imploding a franchise and making us the Browns of the South.  Good on you man being a glass half full kind of person, I am not. I have zero faith in Tepper "evolving" and quoting Morgan in saying they been easy to work with is not any evidence of that actually happening. I'm sure if I go back and watch Fitt, Rhule and Reich pressers they said the same b.s. towing the line jargon to appease their boss. Stuff like, O they've been great, such great collaboration or some crap. Give me wins that is the ONLY analysis I need to judge are clown of an owner.....
    • You're equating wins with evolving, but It's a little more complex than that. This will be the new managment's third season. It will also be the third season where the Teppers have taken a step back. If you think that the only way to measure improvements due to seeming changes for the better is wins and losses after only two years--one being a playoff berth, "limping" in there or not, then perhaps you're being more emotional. By most analysts' measure, Dan Morgan has the Panthers moving in the right direction. He can only get us to where we need to be with the blessing and cooperation from the owners. He has said several times now, that they are easy to work with. Rhule, Reich and Fitterer did not say that. In fact, you could literally see the pressure put upon them by their countenance.  Bottom line: it has been reported that they have changed and everything that we've seen (and not seen) is indicative of that belief. We were a playoff team, and we had a good showing. With the moves that have been made this offseason, and last offseason to be honest, NFL types are expecting the Panthers to compete for the division the upcoming season, and that's even before the draft. This is all with a QB that is still a question mark.  Rome wasn't built in a day. David Tepper has seemed to internalize that, and now many fans need to appreciate the same. It could be argued that we didn't have any business winning the games we did in '24 or '25, much less make the playoffs this past season. A positive transition appears to be afoot. We are close to becoming a perennial contender, and that's thanks to a developing culture change that is being allowed to happen. This was not the case when the Teppers, particularly David, were fumbling around trying to figure out how to run an NFL franchise.
    • Dude is a beast on ST. I like the emphasis on special teams with him and Simmons.
