Panthers made a mistake drafting him to play LT. Plug him in at guard and be done with it. Front office just needs to own their mistake for drafting an NFL guard #6 overall.

The Panthers are loaded with over valued 1st round picks.

Stop overreacting. Everyone knew he would need time to develop at a pass blocker but be an immediate upgrade to run blocking. His measurables, intelligence, plus athletic ability all check off that he can be a great LT. He gave a good OL coach to develop him so let’s no rush to judgement before the preseason is even over. 
Butler isn’t on the team. So you just leave out Peppers, Cam, Luke, CMC, and other first round picks we nailed? S

It's not that people didn't know he would need time, but he gave up two sacks in like 5 plays and was beat a few more times.

The Seahawks committed five offensive penalties in the first half. Cross had four of them with three false starts, and one holding penalty. He drew his fifth penalty -- another false start -- in the third quarter. Playing left tackle -- especially as a rookie -- is tough. Cross has all of the intangibles to be a franchise left tackle, but he won't do that if he's going to be drawing yellow 
 

Neal has lost several one-on-ones against Ximines, who is struggling to make a roster spot. That is not encouraging, but it is also not the end of the world. The speed of the NFL is an adjustment for even top recruits out of IMG Academy.
 

All 3 of the top LTs are struggling early. It’s almost like it’s a position that takes time to adjust from college to the NFL. Everyone screamed for a LT so which one should we have drafted? Penning allowed 3 sacks in his first preseason game also…

Even the first sack was more of a teaching moment on stunts and picking it up properly. The second sack was discouraging because it was a straight up beat where Iky couldn’t get to him. Maybe it was technique but it was far more worrisome than this highlight video, which outside of fans going gaga over it, is meaningless physics.

The whole effort by the O-line, the call in general was DOA. I'm more worried about averaging 2.5 yards a carry than Ickey falling on top of a safety

Most of you want to complain about Rhule naming him the starter LT. Either you give it time and have some bumps or move him to LG. They feel "in time" he will be a better LT. Maybe they learned like with BC if they gave hm the whole year at LT. But side by side, Icky is probably going to be a better LT so they started the process now. Unless he turns out to be a bust, he will eventually be the anchor on the line for years to come. Be patient. Og right, Panther fans don't know they word.

The blocking by the actual o-line wasn't bad honestly, the problem was the TE Sullivan not securing the edge and letting the DE get outside leverage on him that busted the play.

      Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy

      Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
