YGM

YGM did his job. The job of a defensive end is to set the edge. That is exactly what he did in the first clip. The problem with this defense is the linebackers. The linebackers are not filling their assigned gaps. Creating lanes for the opposing rb's to run wild. We need a solid mlb not these journeymen. YGM generates pressure and plays with effort everytime I watched him play. Another weak point of this defense is the interior d line. I was very dissapointed to see Mcall did not get a jersey against the Browns. As a rookie he looked like one of the better d-lineman on this team. If the linebackers did their job this defense would be fine. I will be at the Giants game this weekend to witness the play of this team in person. I want to get an up close view of the player performances.

The closer to the ball, the better Chinn is. Obvious to everyone but this staff who thinks he's undersized at LB (Luvu/Littleton are the same size and Shaq is smaller)

Yeah it’s basically Thomas Davis again.

Let him stick to linebacker and slowly bulk up, playing to his strengths.

Instead they make him an average safety.

YGM DE with late first round buzz falls into the second, Kony Ealy DE with first round buzz who fell in the second. Something's missing with these two guys.

The late first round buzz was bs. That's what's wrong with them. They were overrated by draft nerds that don't know squat.

More college players don’t make it in the NFL than do make it.

Of course your list is longer.

Boooooooooooom! Hit him with that obvious. I really dislike when people act like a university has never produced a good player in its history just to be dismissive.

What they don't realize is this coaching staff is mismanaging every player here and most of these guys deserve better.  Most of these guys would do better in a different scheme. And the guy did pick two horrible plays to make his point though. Face palm.

Curtis Enis

Blair Thomas

Todd Blackledge

Aaron Maybin

Coutrney Brown

see I can do this too, and my list will be much much longer

Every College has numerous players who amount to nothing, heck Alabama could write the dictionary with the amount of busts they have produced. Point being certain colleges lack star power, Penn State has produced numerous stars so don’t slander my team haha. Cheers tho I understand your point.

The Panthers are loaded with average players like YGM

Championship teams need leaders and game changers. Two leaders in Chinn and Shaq. No game changers. That is the defense. Baker, CMC, Bozeman, Corbett are leaders on offense. CMC is the only game changer on offense.

Panthers have Moton, Burns, BC, Moore, Littleton, and Wilson as championship complimentary players.

Ickey would likely be a game changer if he was playing LG and not LT.

Everyone else is unproven, average, a liability or a team pet. The fact this team has liabilities and team pets taking up roster spots in favor of unproven potential is a BIG problem that tells you the coaching and front office need to be replaced to be competitive on a championship level.

The Panthers are short 2 leaders on defense, 3 game changers on defense, 1 leader on offense, and 2 game changers on offense. I say this because the formula is based off of a tested and true to this day method of championship teams. 9 true leaders (5 offense and 4 defense who developed in college or prior to college). 3 game changers on both sides of the ball (players who know when to take risks and have been proven successful with their decision making on the field).  15 unproven potential, 10 championship compliments, 1 field changing threat at punt returner, 1 accurate kicker (top 10), 1 reliable punter (top 10), 1 mistake free long snapper, 1 automatic holder, and 4 passionate special teams gunners. 10 average 5+ year vets from successful teams (5 offense and 5 defense).

With this formula. YGM would have been cut, Brown would have been traded, Darnold would have been traded, Walker would have been cut, Thomas would have been let go... you see where this is going. The Panthers roster is a mess if you want to build for a championship. The OL alone, you have Elf, Tecklenburg, Jordan, Erving, and Brown who should not be on the roster. They are wasting valuable time and space, and have shown who they are or not shown any potential to start in the NFL as an average player.
