Person says the Panthers will win this one

I think the assumption we get to Jones is more hope than anything. Our pass rush last week was atrocious so it's hard for me to believe it exist until I see it. Daboll is too damn smart to not run it down Snow's throat. The O needs to set a realistic pace by running the ball early and get Baker in a much better situation than last week by working him into the game. Run then some playaction and then open it up if things are going smoothly. Keep it simple and balanced.

Either team could just lay an egg in this one but I am guessing it will be a scrappy game from both teams.

coin flip game.  the less stupid team wins the game.

Same as week 1.

Last week it seemed both teams should be run heavy and whichever team that stopped running first would lose. I didn't have much faith in either team being smart.

Neither team was. Both teams seemed to come out pass heavy and overall the Browns were 1-1 passing and running though and the Panthers passed 3 times for every run. Panthers were more stupid.

I have no idea what the Giants defensive strength is so I don't know the smart game plan this week

No excuses now, we have to win.  Thats a lot of defense that is going to be out for them

Yeah their secondary is Xavier Mckinney at safety and then a bunch of back ups. ILB's are whatever, 3-4 interior guys will get pressure on our IOL but otherwise no reason we can't get CMC/Baker moving around in the backfield. Winks scheme is designed for man coverage and they don't have the secondary guys to do it

yep.

I know the Giants will run the football though.  New coach seems smart enough that we are getting a full dose of Barkley.

Who knows what the Panther O will attempt to be.

Got know clue what either D will attempt to do.

Matt Rhule's teams IMO tend to do something dumb and almost go overkill the other direction sometimes so that's something to watch.

They stuffed Derrick Henry up the middle all game long for a total of 83 yards. It's a new 3-4ish scheme and only the DT's and ILB's are pretty good. CMC has to get to the edge or leak through for some YAC check downs. WR's should be open all day if Baker has time

I think last year the Giants entire offense was hurt or something like that.   There is no game I feel confident in at this stage.

I don't think we'll see Saquon run wild. I think last week was a fluke and they'll tighten up going forward

Based on what? No new personnel, same DC that we've seen get gashed by the run for years now... signs do not point to such a conclusion.

    • That was always the fear, expectation, concern, etc, I had.  Someone showed a still shot from his pick last game and said it showed that the defender closed 3 yards on that ball in the last portion of its flight. I forget the number. 10 yards I think it said but that sounds extreme.  When guys are open by a step, any slowing down to wait for the ball lets the defender back into the play. That sort of stuff makes the margins so small… these NFL CBs are not slow.   It is a league that highly values foot speed; the 40 times and drill times are scrutinized down to the hundredth of a second when evaluating these players on both sides of the passing game. Receivers and defenders both.   My thing with his arm strength (or anyone’s) was always “why do you want to do that? Plus pay extra picks to put yourself in that situation?”. Asking for trouble.     I wish there was a way to measure velocity on the back half of a throw compared to when it left the hand. Or really get accurate reading of the flight time of a ball from the near hash to the sideline, 10 yards down the field. Because teams could use that info. I have always seen this as being a disadvantage with Bryce but it is beyond my ability to quantify it.   I think it would show what that arm strength is really about, a lot more than just measuring how much air can you put under it so it will fly as far as possible.
    • Who didn't see that coming....
    • Its a detriment if he can't play...as we are seeing.
