Why would FC Charlotte have to move too? Is their something contracted between them and the Panthers where they have to share everything? There's a list of owners who have teams in different cities. I, just so everyone knows, don't think the Panthers are ever moving. But it is possible to own teams in different places.

Austin alone might struggle to support an NFL team but if they put the stadium in the city proper but a stadium in between SA and Austin I think could have great success. 45 min from each city. Hell put it near the outlet mall in San Marcos haha.

As I said in a previous post, the MLS despises their teams playing in NFL stadiums. The MLS would force Tepper to build a soccer specific stadium and he’d be on the hook for that himself, no way in hell the city would help out.

That’s why those teams above also play in NFL stadiums.

The Sounders and Fire also play in NFL stadiums but I can guarantee you that if the Seahawks or Bears ever moved then the NFL would force the owners of those teams to build soccer specific stadiums as well.

It also makes no sense to keep Charlotte FC here, there’s a lot of crossover between the fanbases of the Panthers and Charlotte FC… Tepper would destroy half the Charlotte FC fanbase if he moved the Panthers and left Charlotte FC in Charlotte.

Also, do you think that cheap bastard would be okay with footing the rent in one city for his soccer team and in another city for his football team? The whole reason the teams are sharing a building now is to save Tepper money.

NYCFC plays in Yankees stadium ... or Mets stadium. There are no concrete plans to have a new stadium. That is way worse than playing in an NFL stadium. MLS will not force him to do anything. That said, Panthers aren't moving and Charlotte FC is going to play in BOA.

Yes, they are playing in that stadium because it’s readily available and it’s a shared stadium… not sure what’s so difficult to understand here.

There isn’t an MLS soccer specific stadium that has a capacity over 30K… which BofA would instantly become if the Panthers left.

So yes… the MLS would force him build a soccer specific stadium.

If you think Don Garber is going to let one of his teams play in a stadium that has a capacity of 70K and is the only tenant then you are out of your damn mind.

They play in Yankees/Mets/RedBull stadiums/arena bc they have no where else to go, and bc you can't just up and build something here without shelling out a ton of money. Why would MLS force Tepper to use his own money to build something new? We sure as hell know the city of Charlotte won't foot the bill, and Tepper won't pay for an arena of his own. They'd fold most likely. But again, doesn't matter. No one is going anywhere.

Austin already has an MLS team and I can damn near guarantee you that the MLS would nix a move to OKC.

If there ever was to be a move, San Antonio is probably the only option.

San Antonio City Council isn't going to sell him the Alamodome. They do just fine with their own events and concerts, I have a hard time seeing them interested in giving Tepper any money so he can build his own place. It would be nice if Cities got away from letting NFL owners own the actual stadiums they play in unless they can afford their own poo

All of that is incorrect, NYCFC is getting a stadium and it could be done by 2025, they are currently playing in Yankee stadium because who owns them besides (City Football)… Yankee Global Enterprises… NYCFC only plays at Red Bull Arena when there is a stadium conflict.

As I said before, Charlotte FC is going with Tepper if he he somehow got to move the Panthers… why… because 1) the MLS would be absolutely pissed about one of their teams being the only tenant in a 70K stadium and 2) Tepper isn’t going to pay the rent for two stadiums.

Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texan are in Texas I doubt that the NFL would allow another team to exist in Texas. And Jerry Jones would fight like hell to keep another team from going to Texas.

Well it's not up to him, it has to be voted on across all owners and since the NFL is mostly a profit sharing model it wouldn't make sense to the others.
