Glazer is a connected guy. prob not a bad idea to get his opinion. He and Payton are probably friends.

Yep. Payton is part of the Fox pregame show.

Also to be clear, this wasn't "asking Glazer for advice". It was calling him for an opinion on Payton's level of interest. Glazer volunteered his advice.

This makes Tepper look like a creepy stalker. He's been lusting after everything Saints since he came here, trying to model this organization in that stank filthy image. This is a STUPID and blatantly idiotic notion that that would even be possible or that the Saints would even entertain such moronic foolishness. Tepper is delusional.

Mediocre or not Panthers organization for the most part stayed classy. This guy has actually 0 cuth.

But seriously, if we hire Sean Payton I'm fuging done. I'll never root for a team coached by that guy or Gregg Williams for that matter. Those guys are trash and should've been banned for life.

Yep. Dude had one SB gifted to him 13 years ago. I don't know why people rate him so high. Offensive genius=having Brees in his cushy little dome.

How is asking for someone's opinion on a particular subject different than asking for their advice?

Sounds like a conversation starter by someone in the FO speaking to glazer in what they thought was an off the record, joking manner.  Not meant to be taken seriously.  glazer of course, with an ego approaching the size of SP, took it seriously and ran with it.

As other posters have said, revealing this comment shows tremendous disrespect to the entire Panthers organization by the NFL and NFL bottom-feeders like glazer.

I thought Baker was a mistake simply because of his attitude, not just his skill level. But when he became a Panther I sucked it up and supported him.  If we give up draft capital to hire this weasel it will become much tougher to just keep sucking up the gut punches this organization routinely directs at their fans.

"Do you think Sean would be interested?" = gauging interest

"Do you think we should hire Sean?" = asking for advice

However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down.
