Trading Burns would be stupid.  He is like 24 and just starting to find his groove.  he will be a stud for the next decade.

He might spend much of that decade as a stud for someone else too.

Same old story--some really good defensive player is a "keep at all costs" player, who then re-sogns and has Huddlers packing his bags almost immediately thereafter. Too often, Huddle says, "we can't make _______ move cause we have to pay __, ___, _____, and ______. Then they all get paid and before the ink is dry on their extensions, they can't be pushed out the door fast enough. See Johnson, Charles; Short, Kawann; Gamble; Chris; Davis, Thomas; Beason, Jon; and other big name defensive players not named Keuchly.

Trading him now just speeds up the cycle of the inevitable wanting him out of town and drafting his replacement over everlasting offensive needs.

No future first from the rams thanks and the eagles already got Quinn so Burns is likely staying put unless a mystery team wants to offer 2 firsts 🤷‍♂️

Seattle are leading their division have 2 firsts this year and love trading for proven players. They could be a Smokey to try and get Burns

If you can get 2 firsts for Burns you do it.  No brainer.  Charlotte/Panthers offer nothing for him to WANT to stay.  So you either over pay / franchise him or watch him walk away for no compensation.  If we really turned down 2 first (even if it's 24/25), then we are dumb.

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
