Let's be honest. DJ doesn't deserve this.

Bro can’t make a play when it counts.  He being paid like a top WR in this league.  We are the ones who deserve better

The dude literally just caught a 70 yard Hail Mary with three guys on him… what’s your definition of can’t make a play when it counts?

DJ did make a stupid decision by taking off his helmet but 6 rec for 152 yds and a TD. Thats good numbers. DJ is getting open and running solid routes. He is playing better. I blame the kicker for this one though. He blew it. No matter what anyone says. You have to make those. 40 yd fgs are suppose to be good easy ranges especially in a dome where there is no wind factor. 50+ then we can have a argument.

I made that post after he dropped his wide open 4th down pass and before the Hail Mary.  That drop on 4th down made the Hail Mary a requirement, and of course DJ fugged that up with the penalty.  That 15 yards resulted in both missed kicks.  That second kick was 100% mental from missing the first XP, which was 100% due to the penalty

It's time to listen to reasonable offers and totally rebuild this team.

I wouldn't say that yet... if he plays like this and PJ continues to improve, this team might surprise us. We've just been a QB away from being a decent team. Despite the loss, PJ played his ass off... more than serviceable if you ask me. The defense allowed to much in the running game and needs to get the QB down a little more. Kicking game lost this game. The PJ to DJ connection could become a real good thing for this team... lets just give it a few more games before we burn it all down. This team seems to be playing with purpose now.

We can't bring in a rookie QB next year and have zero weapons for him. Need to keep DJ.

I mean, I agree fundamentally about weapons, but your post assumes that we won't/can't get more receivers.  We've seen teams get some deadly receivers during the past few years, and not just in the first round. D.J. is a relative value, but if the price is right...

You're being awful hopeful there my guy. Could we draft another good WR? Of course. Will it work out perfectly in our favor? Not likely. Do we need to go on back down the line and name all the receivers we've drafted and argued about who have added up to not much? Sure our luck is due for change. But I definitely wouldn't just assume oh yeah we're gonna draft the next elite receiver because we are looking. Just my outlook after many years of following this team.

First off, I think that D.J. is a good receiver. I think there are good receivers available most years. Elite receivers are a little harder to find, but it's certainly not impossible. We aren't talking LTs, CBs, DEs or QBs here, we're talking receivers. Just look at the ones who've come out the last five years, and you can see that mostly every team has a receiver worth his salt.

As for following this team, there's a difference between Hurney, Gentleman, Rhule, and now Scott Fitterer (for the moment). Fitterer's specialty is identifying talent. I know that some like to bang on him, but he's done a pretty good job at that in my estimation. The coaches have to coach the talent up and get them on the field. There's no doubt in my mind that he could replace Moore with a good receiver if it came down to that.

    • It's rare enough for a running back to tear the same ACL twice. There's not much of a sample size on the recoveries. And of course Dobbins has missed a lot of time--he was injured twice. That number will drop as his career continues, and even if it doesn't, that doesn't necessarily mean it has anything to do with the prior injuries. Dobbins just started and played well for a playoff team all year until he was injured by a hip-drop tackle. Surely his ACL recoveries didn't contribute to his completely random foot injury caused by an illegal tackle? Again, I'm confused why everyone is being so definitive that there's 'very little chance' of any meaningful contribution ever when the greatest counterpoint ever played for us. Thomas Davis tore the same knee over and over again and was basically fine. As for the roster-building stuff, we'll see what happens with Chuba and Dowdle at the end of the year, but Etienne's not going to factor into this. Either Brooks comes back, in which case we've already seen more from him than we have from Etienne, or he doesn't. But Etienne's not forcing him off the team. If anything, Etienne's current role is his absolute floor.
    • Then I would assume disingenuous. Why on earth would you consider this an "exciting" time to be a Panthers fan? Let me ask this, how old are you and how long have you been an NFL fan?
    • An ESPN writer had a good breakdown of teams that were likely to come back to earth(KC and Redskins were two of them) based on outlier results in 2024 in close games. I think that has a lot to do with it. Found it: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46003861/nfl-teams-likely-decline-lose-more-games-2025-season-predictions-vikings-chiefs-commanders-lions-colts
