Brian Burns is getting destroyed in the run game today.

It’s literally not. Pretending that it’s a hard and fast rule that applies at all times is incredibly stupid and naive. 1st round picks are 1st round picks. The Rams value them less than the Panthers should right now. It’s funny how on your high horse you are in this thread, calling people emotional, yet you are the one who has made like half the posts the past couple pages.

There was a whole thread explaining this. Talking to walls at this point.

Then there are people who act like they know everything, and state their opinions as facts, and then call others dumb.

Which are you?

This is pretty funny considering you pooed then quoted my post and the first thing you said was “Lol dumb” when I wasn’t even talking to you. You’re pretty self-righteous there bud.

My problem is Burns has always been he’s valued for “what he can be” rather than what he is. Right now he’s a one dimensional player that gets killed in the running game. He also has approximately one move to rush the passer. He does his spin move and if it’s there he has a nice Qb pressure, but if it’s not he’s done rushing the passer for that play. He doesn’t have the nonstop drive to get to the QB that other elite pass rushers have.

The panthers are essentially valuing Burns as a Myles Garrett type player, but he plays like a slightly better Mario Addison. The absolutely ceiling for Burns (in my opinion) is developing into a Maxx Crosby type player. But that requires an endless motor and a big improvement against run. Burns is only 24 so hopefully there’s still time to get there once the team is competitive again. If not, the panthers will look stupid for a longgggg time for turning down that kings ransom.

    • I'm not to sure it's a solid argument to try to estimate what he will do this season, BUT he's had a solid 3 years in the league. Here's his numbers compared to Jewell's for the same time period. I can see the logic of getting a starting MLB for a (at best) WR4. AT, XL and Tmac are certainly our top 3 guys IN 2025. Certainly worth pondering.
    • Training camp just started and it's already starting... https://www.facebook.com/reel/24277303321904901/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v LOL No one believes you and you have fan pages sharing this with a "Play him or trade him" headline. Oh wee mayne. This is why no front offices wanted any part of this.
    • Honestly, it only makes sense if you're trying to chase being the best bad team you can be this year. The number one question we need answered this season is whether or not Bryce is our long-term franchise QB. Trading away a second year WR who was second on the team in catch percentage, first in yards per target, and who clearly outplayed your 1st round pick for a likely one year rental fill in LB is exactly the type of short sighted desperation moves that has made us the worst franchise in the league under Tepper. We gotta stop making these types of moves and just focus on building a good organization and a good roster. Lloyd is a JAG LB another bad team and awful defense is wavering on and a couple of Panthers fans are salivating over him. Oof. We just need to be patient and wait. Definitely make some calls around the league to teams deep at LB and see if there's an opportunity to add one for a late round pick. Definitely shop the waiver wire hard. The reality is that LB is almost certainly going to be a weakness for us this year. We weren't fixing our entire roster in one off-season and we're not fixing an overall weak positional group in late July.  If you trade for Lloyd LB is still a weakness and you've given up a young promising WR who could potentially help you answer the question of whether or not Bryce is that guy. That's bad football business.
