The fact that we lost to this Cardinals team by double digits AT HOME no less is more proof of just how awful of a coach Rhule was. He was totally outclassed and confused by the poo KINGSBURY was throwing at him. Unreal how truly hopeless that situation was.

I'm pretty sure every player on this team mailed it in until Fatt Fhule was fired.

With Matt Rhule and Urban Myer gone, Kingsbury is probably the worst coach in the NFL.  Of course, all three of them had one thing in common.  They were hired out of college with little or no NFL experience.  Hopefully, Tepper observes that next time he has to hire a new coach.  No college coaches unless they have significant NFL experience.

Raiders have gotten better over the season, at least until they ran into the Mayfield Buzzsaw.   And Hackett is in his first year.

Kingsbury got fired from Texas Tech and as OC at USC, before being hired by Arizona, and has had one winning season as a head coach in his 7 seasons including College and Pros.  And he lost twice to Matt Rhule.

The owners doing that might be more likely than them banning turf 😐

The pro turf people were like "Arizona is grass!!!". It technically is but it's also on retractable wheels in the desert so not what one would consider "natural". It still has a base foundation of a very hard surface

Kingsbury was in the NFL for 5 seasons as a player. That's actually NFL experience. Way more than Matt Rhule and Urban Meyer combined.

Experience coaching and playing are two completely different things.  That being said, I agree it's still better than Rhule or Meyer.  On the other hand, Rhule and Meyer both won at the college level, Kingsbury did not.

I somewhat disagree. If you have played in the NFL, that will give you the necessary experience to see how to prepare properly and how to deal with NFL professionals. The rest is just coaching. You need to figure out how to be a good coach in general, regardless of level.

I think Kingsbury jumped too many levels to being a head coach(in college, much less to the NFL). He needs a long stint as an OC in the NFL and then maybe he might be worth trying at HC again.

Kingsbury does suck too, don't get me wrong. But McDaniels lost to Kingsbury after blowing a 20 point half time lead and a 16 point 4th quarter lead. McDaniels also has two other blown leads of 17 points, the 13 point lead with 3 minutes left against a bad Rams team that had a QB who knew 6 plays, and lost to a team that just hired an ESPN analyst as coach in his first game. Hackett is an offensive guy who might have the worst offense in the league with an HOF QB.

Hackett is very clearly the worst HC in the NFL. There really isn't a #2 that is close. The guy had to hire help within the first few weeks of the season to help with TO's and clock management. The he had to give up playcalling part of the way through the season, as well.

It is painfully obvious he is not at all prepared to be an NFL head coach. Kingsbury and McDaniels may just generally suck but Hackett actually has no business being a HC at all. He is making that very clear.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
