Future “Coach” Kuechly?

I overall quite love that Morgan, Luke, Jake, Gross, & Greg are becoming such an integral part of the franchise from an organizational standpoint.  It really is awesome.

This is how the team's legacy grows and gains credibility.

It was so weird how shut out Rhule made all of it feel.  It feels like a family that's come back and a clown demon's shadow has been lifted.  Rhule was the Violater, Wilks is Spawn.

Maybe its just something about these A-holes named Matt. Matt Doherty came in to Chapel Hill in the early 2,000s and alienated everyone, fired the team mom, cut out summer games, alienated former players, and wasn't accessible. Rhule came here and tried the same thing. As it did in Chapel Hill, it backfired here too! All of these former players showing up, showing interest, and becoming involved again is a nod to the culture that has been built over the last twenty years. Gross, Delhomme, S. Smith, Luke, G-Reg, T. Davis, Cam, Rucker, and Pep are franchise cornerstones and should always be/feel welcome! I'm glad Tepper is finally seeing this and all the egg on his face was his doing for acting like our culture didn't exist. The vibe that Wilks has brewing now and all the support shows how wrong our owner was.

Just hire him as HC and call it a day.

Kuechly is the only defensive HC I would want. If he wanted to do it then I would give him the benefit of the doubt that he would make it work. That guy understood everything that happened in a game. X&Os and leader of men. He has it all.

If he is going to start under someone then he should go work a couple of years under a coach with a great tree to network.

If Luke is willing to sign on because of Wilks, you gotta have both. We can find an OC that wants to work with them. No one wanted to work with Rhule, we gotta get that out of our mentality because the actual roster is solid

Yeah if Luke comes with that puts Wilks over the top for me. Him as OC is a fantastic idea. Throwing him straight into it is a little concerning but the way things are moving we're going to get another unproven Joe Brady type anyway. I REALLY don't want another dinosaur like Shula and McAdoo.

And a huge bonus is Luke might actually stick it out here instead of jumping to the first HC offer he gets.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
